Microsoft lays off journalists to replace them with AI

Microsoft is laying off dozens of journalists and editorial workers at its Microsoft News and MSN organizations.

Does this mean we can expect AI Bots to write our contents on our webpages, product description for eCommerce platform or content moderation in our blog to flag banned words or text ?

Black Hat Warriors - I would like to know your experience about this topic of AI in Content Space...

3) Your two cents how do you see the future for content writers ...

As people say, Expect the unexpected. It is quite possible in the future that ai will replace the job of editors and content writer, but i don't think its a smart move from Microsoft as AI is not intelligent enough at this moment to replace human editors. But nothing wrong on trying.
 
I don't underestimate content from a ai bot.

I wouldn't be surprised that human-readable text on it way

articleforge is all ai built , does a prety good job

Not everything is trash...but eventually i think we all will start using it
 
It dosen't surprise me tbh, it's gonna be easy for them to do it or maybe they are already doing it and nobody knows.
 
Yeah I read this was on the cards a while ago...but apparently it's only journalists who are being replaced by ai.

They all pretty much write the same stories anyway.
 
I believe they'll retain some human editors for proofreading. Such AI must be really smart for a company as big as Microsoft to trust it.

This will happen and will reach efficiency in about 2 months as everyone catches on. So in reality not much will change as once GPT-3 becomes accessible to general public everyone will be using it for articles, rewriting, translations and content generation. Therefore text content will become less and less trustworthy and quality video will reign supreme.
 
I have messed with AI text generation stuff and i can tell you for sure that it isnt smart enough yet to write full high quality articles. But in like 5 years, who knows, right? It may be possible.

Btw... also, microsoft or apple or whatever could come up with a highly trained AI capable of doing this because they probably have a team of highly skilled researchers... but if we are talking about the average blogger/content writer its far from reality that it will happen soon.
 
The authenticity of AI written articles/news is becoming scarily good. The scale at which companies like Microsoft are using machine learning is crazy, and something like article writing from a technical point of view is actually not too complex for a machine.

Microsoft have access to billions upon billions of human written articles. They will marry these up with a bunch of "facts" that the article was based on. Now they feed all this info into a machine learning model so the machine knows what the expected output should be.

This will be the future of news - facts fed into a machine, machine spits out an article that looks like it was written by a human.
 
most likely microsoft are licensing the news articles from sites the ai has found useful. i dont think ai can do much other than rewriting. but if you think about it, all stories are retellings unless you are the first person to tell it.
 
the NYTimes is using Automated Journalism already so it's not just Microsoft . I think we going to see more media companies using it in the near future
 
I think more and more actual jobs will disappear because of this, especially these kind of jobs. Even programmers are in danger from what I've heard. From a business standpoint, it's great, from an individual standpoint sucks balls hard. I guess more and more people will become jobless which can increase criminality. My 2 cents
