Microsoft is acquiring GitHub

Great news. MS has a lot of money so I can imagine that GH will benefit.

And good news for MS, whose been focused on open source for quite a while now. All of a sudden they have access to lot’s of data from GH that can be used.

Win-win for me. And if it turns out that I’m wrong we still got Bitbucket and Gitlab...

Second biggest acquiring after Linkedin from two years ago, Founder of Xamarin will be the CEO of github

For me as well it's great news, read a lot of discussions in reddit, and facebook, and everybody crying that MS will drive Github to shit, everybody pointing MS past mistakes, and using that as an argument. With new management MS doing pretty good, MS products day by day getting better and better. I expect that Github becomes even better than it is right now.

Love them or hate them, MS is kicking serious ass right now - this acquisition will do nothing but benefit GitHub and developers as a whole as far as I'm concerned. They've been on a roll when it comes to improving developer experience, which means better end-products, faster.

And on the other side, Apple is fighting their own screen supplier.

The coding platform, Github accuired by Microsoft for $7.5 billion. Git hub will own about 10times more share than Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella .

Hope they'll make it even better! Better not drive it to shit
