Microsoft Announces GPT AI Powered Bing

Microsoft's search engine, Bing, will soon provide direct answers and prompt users to be more imaginative, thanks to a next-gen language model from OpenAI. The new Bing features four significant technological advancements:

1) Bing is running on a next-generation LLM from OpenAI, customized especially for search, and more powerful than ChatGPT

2) OpenAI introduces a new approach called the "Prometheus Model" which enhances relevancy, annotates answers and keeps them current.

3) AI-enhanced core search index to create the largest jump in search relevance ever

And

4) an improved user experience.

Microsoft is blending traditional search results with AI-powered answers in its search engine, Bing.

The new Bing also offers a chat interface where users can directly ask more specific questions and receive detailed responses.

In a demo, instead of searching for "Mexico City travel tips," Bing chat was prompted to "create an itinerary for a five-day trip for me and my family," and Bing instantly provided a detailed itinerary for the whole trip before translating it into Spanish, and offers translation capabilities in 100 distinct languages.

Microsoft and OpenAI have collaborated for more than three years to bring this new Bing experience, which is powered by one of OpenAI's next-gen models and draws from the key insights of ChatGPT and GPT-3.5.

Supposedly it now has access to the internet and produces live data.

More details:

The new Bing chat will be integrated into Microsoft's Edge browser in a dev build available as of today, but is intended to be available in all browsers, including Google Chrome.

Bing chat will be free(looks like the end of paid AI writing services)

Ads will be incorporated.

Bing will be able to summarize and compare pdf files.

Bing.com has a limited teaser of the new tech, but if you sign up for the waitlist you'll get full access sooner than the rest.

Microsoft has stated that the new Bing is far better than ChatGPT, so it'll probably be worth checking out to see how this will impact SEO.

Google owns over 90 percent of Search, Bing and Bard will definitely hurt their bottom line. Microsoft is in much better position to capitilize on AI, imo.

First mover's advantage like anything else. But Microsoft has the edge. The question will be how much of the market can they capture before Google figures their shit out.

Back in the day, Microsoft just decided to be a boss and put Internet Explorer front and center on everyone's computer by bundling it with Windows. It was a power move that left Netscape Navigator and other browsers in the dust.

I predict that Google will imitate Microsoft's strategy by prominently featuring Bard on its search page, with the aim of surpassing Bing, just as Microsoft overtook Netscape Navigator in the past.

Yeah but the question is, is the Bard really that good? Will it be able to beat the Chat GPT that Microsoft is going to add to the Bing?

Rumors were circulating that Lambda wasn't quite up to par with ChatGPT, and that was BEFORE the new Bing, which Microsoft claims is far superior to ChatGPT, but only time will tell.

That might put us one step closer to being replaced by a computer. Time to brush up on my interpretive dance skills!

This is google response to chatgpt, google already had an AI they just never mentioned it because there was no need of it, we might be able to see a better AI with a solid base to the future than chatgpt, seems google is being working on this for a while is just they never expected to release it soon, while chatgpt is still testing and learning, we might see more in the future as long as google get pushed to improve more and not get behind of his competitors.
