The ESU program will allow users to pay for monthly security updates beyond Windows 10's end of support date.
When is windows 10's end of support date?
Is there a site that can look at my pc configuration and tell if I can upgrade to 11?.
I got 3 pcs on windows 10.
This is ridiculous btw.

He said already October 2025
you still have plenty of time
till that date we can upgrade to windows 15
Windows 15 he he he. Might as well.
Oct 25 is end of life, not end of support or are they same?

aaaaaaand mac os is FREE. Tell me why windows is better again? :D

jokes aside, this is a bad one from microsoft. Subscription based os? Go f* yourself Bill. :(

There are still almost 2 more years so no panic. Windows 11 sucks so not switching

So, i have to pay a subscription for them to break my computer every time they update? They used to do that for free.

Generally the paid "Extended Support Updates" for older versions of Windows is just for their Enterprise clients who don't want to upgrade to the newer versions of Windows.
They've run the same for Windows XP, Windows 2000, etc.

Windows doesn't lock you in forcibly to a closed ecosystem.

365 days x 2 ain't plenty of time man.
But year I'll stick to Windows 10 till then. 11 is shit.

Could you give me an example? Is it just the blue bubble green bubble thing or do you mean something else? I can do everything on my mac that I can do with linux machines. Tbh it doesn’t lock me out of anything. I could give you a better suggestion if I knew what you miss there.

Take this with a grain of salt, I've never had a problem updating a PC they said was incomptabile with windows 11. I've always got faster skills and I think its a lot better than 10. I have 20 years experience wortking on PC's, and of course, windows would start a subscription model. smh

Linux is waiting us with open arms.
Pop OS is so much better. Even though I manage my servers with Linux. I just had certain things I needed to do with windows, and was sick of wine. But honestly it was such a waste of time. POP OS is so much faster than windows, and then all the other great features.

It's not really a subscription model you can still use Windows 10, you just won't get any extended security updates. It's already an 8 year old operating system.
