Micro-work and assured payment

I've been trying a lot of stuff lately in the vain of postloop or mechanicalturk but results are not so good.

My goal is to earn $3/hour online, do you think that's possible?
Has anyone been doing this for a couple of months and increased their ratings to maximum so you get the most out of it?

I've tried only the work with assured payment because a lot of stuff I read here seems nebulous and outdated.

There are ways that people are earning over $100 a day so i don't see how you can't earn $3 a day. Take a look at journeys and see how others are doing it.

You mean those that take months and years to earn $1 and then only if the method doesn't break in the meanwhile for whatever reason...
And sure, some people are earning $1000/day somewhere, somehow, that's not very realistic.

You mean $0.1 per word, but most importantly is this like Fiverr where everything is so inundated to the point no one notices you, or you just take work as you please and you get payed based on the quality?

You probably mean 0.01$ per word if you're lucky. I recommend you try some of the easier methods like torrents + CPA, or some facebook methods. Alternatively, try something like Elance or oDesk and find your own clients. You can also sell your body parts if all of that sounds too 'unrealistic'.

You are asking for advise and when members are helping, you are saying $100 per day is not realistic,i'm making $500 per day buddy and some members $1000-$10000 per day.Check some journey threads or some money making methods,take some actions and see the results by yourself.

Did you give up on mturk? It's honestly not hard to make $3/hour on there. Hell, most times you can make more once you start getting more hits and qualifications under your belt. My highest earned day this past week was like 80 bucks. I think you should give it another try. I gave up on mturk when I first signed up, and then like a year later I got back on it and been doing it since.

Here are a few tips just in case you decide to do it again.
1. Make sure you download Turkopticon. This will show you reviews on the requesters that post. It's like reading reviews on amazon before you buy something. You don't want a bad requester.
2. Use certain scripts, softwares, and add-on's to help with turking such as.. add-ons: Check*****ge, Page Monitor, Autocopy, Close Other Tabs, Turkopticon, ReloadEvery. Software: Feed Notifier. Scripts: Today's Projected Earnings, Block Requester, Hit Database, Worst Case Scenario. I can explain to you how to use each one with turking if you want. I won't do it in this post since you may not even be doing mturk anymore lol
3. I assume you just signed up and you're still in your first 10 days. You can only do up to 100 hits per day during your first ten days, so use them up wisely and remember that returning hits count towards your 100. What I mean by use them wisely is don't do a bunch of penny hits because you will hit your limit and then end up with only like a dollar for the day. I suggest doing surveys or hits that pay at least .20+ that are at least at a .10/minute rate.. for example, a hit that claims you get 2.00 and it takes like 20 minutes (most times they don't take that long). and then after you've been doing hits like that all day and its slow and there are decent batches up, finish out your 100 by doing a batch. you'll still make money while getting your numbers up.
4. How to search for hits.. this is where one of those scripts will come in handy. (guys i promise none of these scripts are mine, i'm not promoting anything lol!! just in case thats what was coming off). but yea, the block requester script... use it. Here's the thing, a lot of requesters post shitty hits daily and so your search gets flooded with shitty hits making it hard for you to see good, new ones that pop up. Block those requesters. This really does help. Hits go fast on mturk. Really good ones. You want to be one of the first people to the hits. (This is also how Check*****ge and Page Monitor, they help you to keep track of te good requesters. When the requester posts, you'll get a notification and be on top of it). Now with the actual searching.. search for hits that pay that you are qualified for that pay at least .20. I'm pretty sure if you do that constantly, you can make $3.00/hour. Also, keep in mind that requesters can reject your work so don't spam and for surveys, remember there are attention checks. If you miss an attention check, you will get rejected.

5. Personally, I think the best time to turk is from during 8 or 9 am - 1 pm CST. I usually turk from around 8 or 9 am to until like 5 or 6 and then after that, just do hits here and there that pop up that are good.

anyway, good luck with finding something to do. Hopefully this helps and didnt confuse you more. I don't have a problem explaining anything more to you. I'm not super amazing at turking but I've been doing this enough now to know some things.

Actually, my registration to amazon mechanical turk was rejected, probably because it's US only. I meant the alternative to it, such as crowdflower.
Anyway you should save your post for when that topic arises again, but since it's US only and the minimum wage in US is walloping $7/hour I don't think there would be any interest for it.

That could be decent if 500 words is one page and you manage that in 1 hour which is then $5 per hour.

Well not just 3$ you can easily over 100$ per day
Even I was in the same position as you were a few years ago

Ahh ok. Sorry I didnt know you werent in the US. I think non-us use to be allowed too. Anyway I'll probably just make a separate thread if anyone else is interested. But as for microworker.. i think i actually signed up for that before but left it and didnt do much.

Btw, since you are active at mturk can you somehow check if it is really for US only?
I'm from one of the EU countries, gave my real address and phone number but still got rejected, when googling why this might happen I came across a lot of conjecture that people from India and other low-grade countries produced such shoddy work on a massive scale that Amazon was forced to make it very localized to only English speaking countries.

If this is true it's rather unfair because this would not be the case with Europeans since we have much higher educational standards and culture. Can you please look into this, maybe you know some of the staff?

I don't know any of the staff, but I'll ask around and see why you need a US address. I'm sure some other turkers might know.

Don't take my word for it, but from what I've heard about a year ago they used to offer cash withdrawal only to US/CA and Indian workers. Others could still do the work but only for some crappy prize vouchers. It might've changed now, but I couldn't tell since I've no interest in the platform.
