Micro Niche website question (google #1 pos)

ok, i own a few micro niche websites, most are ranking page 1 of google (1000-2000) monthly searches.

some are company based websites with the actual company themselves being number 1.

my question:

if i continue seo, should i try and surpass number 1 (actual company themselves) or will i be flagged by google at all or what precautions should i take?

the sites themselves are running off of adsense as the main and only stream of income.

edit: almost forgot, backlinks being main form of seo with blackhat (xrumer, scrapebox, etc.)

It depends upon how many backlinks #1 spot have and also do look at the PR/Age of the #1 spot.

You can out rank them if they are new but if its a big company and have good backlinks/On page SEO, good luck.

I don't think google will flag you if you overtake actual company.

I don't think you will get flagged by Google for doing so well in SEO. Take the case of Wikipedia for instance, many Wikipedia pages outrank the sites of actual companies the wiki is about. Does Wikipedia get flagged? Absolutely not. Okay that was a little not the point. But I'm just saying getting flagged for outranking a company's site makes no sense at all IMHO.
