micro niche sites - just a quick question!

hi all,

i have been lurking around this forum for some time picking up hints and tips all over the place, and have recently set up my first micro niche blog.

having read through hundreds of threads regarding microniche i havent stumbled across the answer to my question.

I am a little stuck with a certain part of the micro niche setup.

lets say my keyword is cars & my domain is car and i have purchased the suitable car domain (sorry wont allow any domains) , i have 5 other keywords i want to rank for
car 1
car 2
car 3
car 4
car 5

how do i set the blog for each of the other keywords?

my understanding and correct me if i am wrong would be to set a page for each of those keywords so my url would be similar to this:

website url/car1
website url/car2
website url/car3
website url/car4
website url/car5

would this be the correct way to do it?

if this is correct and i want to add additional "posts" wouldnt this cause my keyword article to be moved off the front page?

apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but i thought it was time to ask to help me move forward.

Build static pages, not blog posts. In that way your content will not be moved to another page.

In that way your articles will be in menu on left or right side of page.

I do not know if I fully understand you there.
But I guess Subdomains would be the best way to go:
Car1.URL
Car2.URL
Car3.URL

look at this website. This is what I meant:


In this way you have articles on right side of page and url is this type: website url/car1

You know what I mean?

just an addition if you dont mind, lets say i want to grow my micro niche into a niche, to do this i would require adding new content and the easiest way would be with posts, will adding posts cause the first keyword (front blog page) to lose rank with google as the original post is moved off the first page?

See page example in post above. if you decide to grow your page just add new articles and they will be add up in menu on the right side. There will be no moving of your content to other page.

If you are building website in wordpress you need to go in your settings and there make your pages to be static not blog posts.

reggyp you're absolutely right. Your setup would be static pages and the syntax would look like this.

car.com
car.com/car1/
car.com/car2/
etc

But if you're trying to rank for another type of the product in the same micro niche then setup a subdomain as so:

red.car.com
red.car.com/redcar1/
red.car.com/redcar2/
etc

i didnt even think about subdomains but that would save a lot of money, thanks bhatsuccess

I'm aiming to create a similar idea to Reggy, but can I just thread-jack for a second, my sub-domains will be for different cities (same product, different place). Does this still work, ie, :

car.com/newyork
car.com/washington
etc.

I've read that having hosting in each area can help bump local searches, but that would be a needless cost in my eyes.

I need a static page and the customers to only see the city specific page - can this be done with sub-domains? For example, I don't want someone from New York to see that the San Francisco page might get slightly a different/better deal.
