Hi, i just got micro niche finder and I have a question. I've found some good keywords that get a nice amount of searches a month. I then checked the SOC and micro niche finder gave me a 33. So it must mean it's not to hard to rank for.

But the problem occurs when i put the keyword into google it gives me a whole bunch of sites anywhere from pr2-pr5. So is Micro niche Finder wrong, or will it not be to hard to rank for these keywords. I have a couple of them that did this.

Please give me some opinions if you've used micro niche finder. I have to know whats up.

Microniche finder is a good tool to help identify non competitive keywords but is only as good to a point. In my experience, before embarking upon any keyword you will need to assess the top 10-20 results in the big G to really understand whether the keyword is worth pursuing.

In my early years of IM career I wasted quite a few domains and websites through relying completely upon the results from MNF but there is a whole lot of other metrics to consider first;

Look at the top 10-20 results from big G and understand;

1. Domain age
2. TLD or Sub level domains appearing for your chosen keyword
3. PR of top 10 sites (are there any PR0?)
4. Backlinks to the page ranking for said keyword
5. Domain links
6. SEO properties of keywords ranking - do they have Title, Description, H1 tags optimised.

Once you begin to assess these you will start to get a gut feel of how strong that competition is. There is no sure fire method to dominating the top 10 so experiment and try different approaches and don't nessasarily beleive everything you are told about what to do and what not to do. Stick with the basics first (good SEO, Tags, Unique content etc) and then play around with different strategies.

By the way, there are many tools which will do this top 10-20 analysis for you, Traffic Travis, Market Samurai to name but a few which I believe can be found here...just use the search.

Ok, I've found a great keyword. The third site on the first page is a pr0 and only has 11 backlinks that range from pr0-pr2. So I think it will be easy to beat. I'm thinking of creating a squidoo lense and then creating backlinks to it. Do you think It will be easy to beat the 3rd guy there. If I create 25 edu pr4 backlinks?
