I have been doing OK (around $1/day) with a similar method working manually and from a single IP. I now have a batch of ten proxies and planning to scale this up with some help from this bot. U need configure everything right, like disable the wp-cron.php....and configure the cron in ur server, this is the best configuration to dont fuck the host, and use some plugins like w3 total cache....this always helps

For this u need use a lot of differents short urls, so u dont will be flagged so easy.....

Well depends, about 100 follow, but just in the same niche of my tumblr, and like, about 50-200 per account in the start, and sometimes I log on and reblog a few and like too

To scrap just look in the google some good scrapper, or here, have a lot.
To get traffic u just need to have good content and folow tumblrs in ur niche, reblog and like a few pics about ur niche
Well, bots I use prtraffic and sometimes xtumble, both come with a really good tutorial to how use

How often do you use xtumble? I was on the fence about it for a while now...just wondering what level of use you use in your personal method - Everyday, once in a while?

For this method I use more the prtraffic, but for the other method I use xtumble every day
you can do so but make sure you clear browser cache and cookies.
I use slimbrowser and then uninstall and reinstall slimbrowser before creating a new account....it's tedious but if you don't have private proxies that's the way to go
I still recommend trying different physical places to create accounts because even though your IP changes when you reset your router the new IP will still be close to old IP usually
If you know PHP then for scraping i recomennd to use this lib, google for "simplehtmldom" and it is located at sourceforge. (Im not allowed to post urls here yet)
The documentation is clear and easily understandable. I personally switched from Xpath to that lib and very happy with that. Writing xpath selector was horrible and not readable and wasn't always working as I expected but this lib is just great and intuitive and has simple jquery like selectors.
I personally use this and the easiest is to find some tumblr blog where hovering on the picture the link is straight to full picture itself and writing scraper for such takes about 20minutes. Leave your scraper overnight and before don't forget to put in your php.ini file max_execution_time to at least some hours (the unit is there 1 second). So for 10 hours the value should be 60*60*10 = 43200. After changing value for max_execution_time restart/reload your server

I n your post you said we must redirect to our website but are we only using 1 tumblr blog & linking 3 pictures to our website per day?
Because that doesn't seem like enough traffic to the site. And how often are we linking per day & with how many sites per day.
Is it 1 site a day linking 3 pictures ? Do we do this so we don't raise flags with Tumblr Ban Hammer?
