Okay after i started to get a lot of useful stuff here i decided to share one of my methods that is bringing me some good moneys in this bad economic days in UK.

The method is very simple and it can be done by anyone.
What you need to have :
    Ebay Acc
    Paypal Acc
    and Ideas

Here is what i do to make another 3000$+ per month:

As an example i'm getting a Playstation Product but you can use whatever you want.

    1. i go in ebay and search for example Playstation 3.

    2. i find some broken playstation.
The reason that i try to find Broken things is that i can Repair them.

3.I search for some Playstation with price of : 10-20 Pounds.

4.I read about the problem the PS3 has.

5.If i thing and i'm sure i can fix it i Buy it.

6.After that i put on Ebay and sell it for 80-100 Pounds.

You'll be surprised how much you can make in this system.

So to be clear the Playstation product was just an Example to show you how to use this method because i use other hot products to buy and fix them and sell again.

The Whole Philosophy of this is :
Buy Broken Things for Cheap Prices , Fix Them and Sell them for Higher Prices.

Interesting method, however, it can only be used if someone has ability to repair broken electronics .... I can't .....

lol anatho...the OP does insist only on electronics..it can be anything even things that don't require repairs but with the buying price that you could afford to resell in your city for profit. I did that with a laptop one time which I bought from ebay and sold it in Kijiji...the basic idea is just to buy cheap and resell for profit...broken stuff are way cheaper and if you can fix yourself you will for sure make more profit.

As i said you can make money with anything you want but i just got as Example :ps3 as Broken because broken things are bringing me more money.
But if you don't know how to fix Electronic things you can buy other cheap things and sell for more but the profit will be lower.

not a bad idea really. Or you could find a guy that can repear it check for you ( offer him a lot of work ). And kinda outsource it like that.

    Good thinking

Before you go thinking you can fix broken things you may want to also do your research on fixing the problem at hand and pricing the parts needed to fix the problem. It doesn't help you if you invest more into the broken item than its worth does it?

I used to do this with Xbox 360s as I'm pretty much an expert at fixing them. I didn't make as much as the OP stated, because I didn't do it for long. I say do this with Xbox 360s if you can because they're easier to fix and way more guides are available online that teach you how to fix them.

Yes but it is really hard to find something with low buying price that you can resell for higher price ... this is due to the fact that almost all of the cheap sellers (mainly Chinese) sell internationally .... so why should anybody buy from you if he also can buy from them at lower price?
This will only work if e.g. you are living in the UK and there is a cheap seller that only sells to the US .... so you could sell in the UK .... but first you have to overcome one problem, because if he only sells within the US, so how can YOU get the product if living in UK .....

So better way is to buy broken things, fix them and resell at higher price. But as I said, I do not have any experience with repairing such items ......

Also someone here stated you should find a guy to whom you can outsource repairing, however, this increases your expenses (because nobody will do a repair for free) and so your profit might be gone.

yea, bunch of my friends do this exact same method with notebooks

they're buying notebooks with little damage on UK ebay, they have somebody in UK who receives the shipments and then once in every month they ship the broken lappies to my country which is also inside the EU, they fix them (they can almost fix anything, but if they can't, they also buy the parts at low price) and sell the fixed notebooks at place (usually they don't relist on ebay) for a higher price, usually double or triple price

If you can't fix the problem (try and find out the easiest and cheapest ones that can be fixed) and find someone who can. Go to a store that fixes them, and go to the guy that fixes it (not the actual company) and tell him that you will pay him $10 per PS3 that he fixes and taht you will send him a crap load of PS3's to fix or just tell him that you will pay him $xxx at the end of the month if he fixes all of the PS3's you send him.

Therefore, you are basically the buyer and seller and not the fixer. According to pounds, you could make about 30 pounds profit from each PS3 which is pretty decent money.

But I'd say go for Xbox 360s. Find some dumba**es that have the ring of death or whatever its called and look on youtube for a temporary fix. Fix it and make sure it runs fine... as in plug it in a couple days after you fix the problem to make sure it doesn't pop back up. Then throw the xbox on ebay or cl or sell it to someone you know.. Easy money :)

Nice post... My dad had a friend who would buy broken cars, fix them, and resell for 1-4x the price. This really does work, but if you can't fix shit then your screwed. :D

this is ridiculously easy with cars.

Buy a car that doesn't run (usually 2-300$). Take it apart (if you don't think you can handle it I promise this is one area where there are billions of online guides). Sell the parts (locally or on ebay). I promise you that you will always come out ahead by a significant portion, even if you have to buy the tools the first time out.

Absolutely nothing to do with BHW tho, other then years ago I did this on CL (both bought the cars and sold some of the parts). I rented a storage garage to keep the parts that were valuable, sold the shell of the car to the local salvage yard w/ all the crap that was worth less then $30 still in it on it (which payed for the tow truck I would call the move the car from the owners place to mine).

It's a ton of work taking the crap apart and making ebay or CL listings for all of it, but it'll kick the shit out of a 9-5 if you ask me., and you'll learn a ton about cars on the way.
