I think this is my first real share of a method that I've used to bring me some dollar and I thought it was about time I let you guys know about it.

One of the hardest part about selling SEO to a client is that no matter how much you try and educate them on the subject and show them ROI forecasts they just won't sign up because they don't understand it and prefer to go with more traditional advertising methods. I thought why not go straight for people who are already doing some SEO.

This is where those AA lists that have been spammed to death can come in quite useful. This can be done 100% manually but of course it will take a bit more time. Ideally you need scrapebox and majestic or ahref's.

What we are looking for is a company that either is doing their own SEO or has bought a few services and are trying to rank for their particular keyword let's say, "Dentists in X" we want to be able to find either links directly to their money site or to the tier1/2 website that has atrocious content on it and we need the client to not be ranking well in the serps. Essentially we need to find someone doing SEO wrong!

It's worth noting this does require some graft and some luck! Don't expect to land 5 clients in your first day!

So once we've found a potential client that is clearly partaking in some kind of SEO we need to show them what their online presence looks like and why they are not ranking. This is where you need to have a very fancy powerpoint presentation on the Google algo's and then all the Majestic of Ahrefs data for their backlink analysis.

You should be selling yourself as a completely "white hat" service and it helps if you can demonstrate how the links you get will be better than the ones they currently have etc.

The way I like to deliver this is to cold call the client and then send over the presentation while i'm on the phone and discuss things in detail. It helps to bring PR into the mix as well it just helps your service sell. If I can't get through on a cold call then I send an email and if I get no response by email I send a physical copy as long as they are within commuting distance.

Whenever you next see that crappy link just think it's a potential client! Any questions please ask in the thread and don't PM

    Cheers.

Great idea, at least they'll know what you're talking about when you contact them. Seems to go over the heads of a lot of business owners

Do you have any quick tips on knowing if a client is doing SEO but not the right way? any metrics, tell tales, would be fine.
