Hello BHW, just wanted to give back a little . I know this isn't a completely new idea, yet just another variation to help give everyone some more ideas.

I used to be in the "business" of selling cheap car reports to people, using mainly classified ads. However, I got tired of the manual work involved in getting the report and making it a PDF for them.

After reading some other CB methods on here, I got an idea to sell the car reports in an easier fashion, with less work involved, AND more profit.

Here is the basic idea:
1. Go to CB and find a Car report / VIN audit service to promote
2. Find used car listings and reply to them with some generic response that makes you seem interested
3. Once they respond ask if they have a car report for the car they are selling
4. If they don't simply tell them you're really interested but want to see a car report first
5. Tell them about the "cheap car report site you've used before" with aff link
6. ???
7. PROFIT

The best part of this is that it's not really that bad of an idea for them to get the car report anyway because a lot of potential buyers would like to see it anyway.

For the aff link, I use one of my own domains with a php redirect to my aff link, then use a link shortened to my domain.

There are literally an endless amount of used car ads online, and an auto responder is super simple to setup as well. Could easily make more than $30 a day, but I'm pursuing offline marketing and did not scale up :p

I've read about this method before, can't remember where though. I'm sure it works.

I searched and didn't see anything related to car report. I do remember someone's thread saying they tried to get sellers to get insurance quotes, but that didn't make much sense to me.

What do you do when they ask you if you really want the car? Do you ignore them at that point, or do you just say you changed your mind?

Ive actually done both, I replied more to people at first, but once there was a lot of emails I stopped caring. While I'm sure they were disgruntled either way, I only received a handfull of upset emails.

I also created a new email for this adventure, that made me seem like an older white guy. Not sure how much of a difference it made, just throwing it out there.

I've read about similar methods before but this a good share. For new affiliates who cannot make money with other methods, this should give you an idea of a working method.

However, don't just copy and paste it. Think outside the box on how you could implement this idea slightly different, in different niches.

I personally know affiliates who are making over $500 daily by using classified ads and autoresponders. The key is to implement the method slightly different than anyone else, or in a new niche.

Good luck

I have to ask a noob question since I'm stuck. I found another CB offer to promote in basically the same way. When you say that you used one of your own domains, does that mean I should purchase a new domain name that is similar to what I am promoting, in your example something like vincheck.xxx, and then redirect or is it a totally random domain name?

I would love to give this a shot, but this one part is completely stumping me.

Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely correct, but still, don't be afraid to pursue this niche either. I'm in a big US city, and on CL there was a fresh page of ads almost every hour or two it seems.

ok. this is a really cool method. never think about it before..

thank you!

All I did was use another non-related domain so it was like xxxxx.com/auto.php
so it goes link shortener -----> xxxxx.com/auto.php ------> (aff link)
The main point was to hide the ugly link, and it's hard to use a link shortener with aff links

hahahaha!! it's really an awesome method, I'm gonna try it and get back to you :D

It might be working for you because your doing it offline. Online might be a different game.
Sellers online are more smart nowadays. They might as well use car fax instead.
Thanks for the share though.

Don't Know Whether It is Works Or Not.. Even am not familiar to using CB.. Just Started My Account there Couple Of Months Ago..

Lets try this Method..

Thanks For Share

Honestly you got nothing to loose. Like I said, there's basically an endless amount of "leads" out there

Also, I've been getting a lot of PMs about what vendor I suggest.
i used vin audit .com because it looked / sounded the most legit.

Please post your questions in this thread if you could, instead of messaging me, it's easier for me to post here because of my crappy phone. Thanks!

Interesting method, could possibly be used in some other ways as well, thanks!

Trust me, I understand you 3hunna %. However, I used this method on only CL ads. I agree that people are smarter and catching on, which is why I don't think it converts as well as it could. However, you mention Carfax and that runs like $30 bucks for a report, while the vin audit report offers the same info (it's just not as reputable).

Again, I know it's not some new, perfect method; just something to spark some ideas and get some interest in CB.

I understand the morality part. I guess the way I justified it in my head is that a car report is not worthless to them, and they pay a lot less for said report

Hey, new here and I came across this thread while searching google for the possibility/legality of something similar. I'm new to the IM/SEO game but thought I'd put my programming skills to work to try to make some cash.

Anyways, I wrote up a little program (not spamming here) that can scrape x amount of auto ads from a (or all) city on a certain site and then send an email saying I was interested in the vehicle and would they be willing to get a report, etc, etc.

The more I read, it sounds like the major sites would crack down on this quickly so maybe you're method would catch less attention. I wouldn't have to worry about rotating email addresses and proxies.

As for the ethics..this site is called blackhat seo and I agree the report wouldn't be the worst money they spent.

Anyways good info on this site and I'll post back if I attempt to twist my plan into yours.

thanks
