A RuneScape gold site was sold to their competitor for like a million dollars I think it was. Then both their sites got closed a bit of time after that.
I saw another one on Flippa that was for sale. They did $50k profit a month on average.
There is a lot of sellers making big money. Look at some of the top sellers on PlayerAuctions etc. - Some of these accounts have thousands of listings across a hundred games and ten thousand orders a month.

Good thread. I find this interesting.
But i feel like if you get a bot that many other people use, its like a huge footprint to get banned. Unless you can somehow customize it.

For botting, the main method seems to be that they use public software available (For Runescape you can get mirror bots, so it's undetectable in itself, you only get detected on the script), and then they hire script developers for their own custom money making methods for $500-1k.
However, competition is tough here in 2021, so you need to invest a lot of time and at least $2-3k to get properly started these days. And then there is also a bunch of maintenance to avoid risking too much money as well as bans.

Yeah. Oldschool Runescape is still growing in player base I think, and it has a huge market. The biggest botters in OSRS probably make $50-100k a month with some months being slightly better, and then you have to account for banned gold and other expenses afterward.

I think so, too. The developers of the game of course also know about public bots and how they work, so they will fix it soon to detect these kinds of bots
