Eh, you would be surprised. I'm a fan of quality content with little or no backlinks as opposed to mediocre content and buying backlinks.

Capitalism always propagates strong beliefs. In this case: cheap articles & cheap backlinks.

Hey this is a pretty good question.

I'll try to speak only based on data. My highest converting article had the following above the fold (the first thing you load the article): a headline that said "3 reasons you should buy" and a list of 3 reasons why they should buy. And then my affiliate link right below that.

I do this because if they were already thinking about buying, I want to support them without a shadow of a doubt.

If you put doubt into the consumer's mind, you'll want to the person to explain it. I did this but after the "3 reasons to buy" where I included an in-depth review of the product that includes improvements / criticism.

So to answer your question. This is the format:

1. h2: " 3 reasons you should buy"
2. list: 3 reasons why they should buy (really good ones)
3. Affiliate link. I used AAWP because the button has the amazon logo and my conversions increased after that because it's not just a simple orange button like my competitors used.
4. h2: "Benefits and Features": This is why you conversationally talk about the product. However, make sure that when you mention anything, that it goes back to they should / shoudn't buy.

I guess "hard" is relative. Try ranking for this keyword as opposed to "best massage chair" and tell me which one will be more difficult

Astute observation. It's actually picking up a lot of steam. Even after the cut, it's making more than $200 / month still. I see a lot of big products being ordered every day.

I think someone could easily flip this site if they replaced the affiliate program. I just wasn't willing to at the time and still am not. I just don't care about this niche and don't enjoy writing for it after doing it for months.

I did build backlinks but I don't believe it was relevant. Just because I track the pages that converted and those are not the ones that have backlinks.

However, to be honest, I don't understand this sentiment, although it's not an unpopular response to posts like this.

The IM community is an interesting one. Everyone is so secretive about their site and their method and the most popular posts have little supporting evidence whatsoever. Someone comes along with concrete support and exposes their niche and yet receives flak from the community?

This is what I see: I created an honest method to help people get started wit aff marketing. The seller and I never agreed to not disclosing the site and it's method. This is legal in every way shape or form. Some white knight randomly cares about the seller (that they don't know, don't care) more than the community they are a part of?

The biggest irony is that this is a black-hat community. By being even a JR member, you are involuntarily promoting black-hat methods like Reddit upvote bots, automatic comment scrapers and the like.

Nah, think I will avoid speaking privately on this, but thanks for the offer.

I did not say that you did anything illegal, I presumed there was no NDA or restrictions, but given that you provided screenshots as earnings evidence, there was no real need for you to actually give niche and product info, which added nothing to the value of your evidence.

Also, given the inflated earnings and deflated metrics, it simply comes across that you have a grudge against whomever you sold the site to.

As for the rest about this being black hat world, blah blah blah, it does not mean that we are dicks. Most members have respect for others, especially those also in the game.

I don't think you know what you're talking about, lol. Everything I stated in here is public knowledge for those who simply use Google. The products add value to the post, they provide proof.

The seller is someone I regularly do business with. After seeing this post, they still do business with me, lol. I'm very amicable with the seller and we're on very good terms. You have no idea what you're talking about. Grudge? This is a small site, lol.

Not sure where you're getting "inflated earnings" but as you mentioned there are screenshots to the earnings, lol. Salt is salt, I guess.

I never claimed BHW members were dicks. In fact, I have respect for this community, that's what I put my head out here and give back. I don't randomly go on posts meant to help others and flame them, lol.

Why did you sell your site for just 5x of your monthly income? Market price is: 12x to 20 x of your monthly income which means you could have easily earned $6000 - $10,000. I suppose you sold in hurry due to reduced Amazon commission.

Probably around 80? I'm not sure of the exact amount. I believe it was around 100,000 words.

I was just stupid. I realize I do things very hasty and yeah I end up short changed (even with trading). I think the commission structure changed again for the better?

Anyways this site is making 400 - 500 / month now. So it was stupid on my part to sell it for such low price.

However, the sale was important me to realize how real IM was. Before I didn't have any validation that this venture can make me money (although I believed it). It's different when you see the money in your bank account.

I built a couple and bought some. The links that I bought were worthless. The first couple months of this site was writing super competitive keyword articles supplemented by links that were bought. This brought in 0 money and no conversions.

After some time, I wrote my own articles then reached out to manufacturers and brands for backlinks. That's when the site took off.
