Method: Rank local business sites quickly and effectively

When you guys mean FB you actually mean creating a FB page for a local business and getting fake likes and all? Can someone clarify?

I'm hesitant about doing this some businesses don't really need facebook pages. Such as B2B businesses where having a fb page doesn't make sense. Do you guys still do social signals for such businesses anyway?

I have had great luck with facebook so far. When my page is slow and doesn't generate interest, my site doesn't go anywhere, but when it takes off (i have maybe one post a week that I share from my blog to facebook that generates +250 visits/shares) I notice a huge difference. I then promote that page because it's my belief that since enough people found it interesting, they will continue liking it when it's promoted and I dream one day it may even go viral. My record is like 800 facebook shares which is not much but it's monumental in areas where there is no social competition (even though keyword competition may be high). One of my friends and competitors has a very very basic website with no momentum but he does very well promoting himself on facebook and IRL. Those factors alone ranked his Facebook page above any competitors and I just checked, he's in 2nd place position after Yelp!.

-Tex it's a site for a local electronics repair business but the main is a blogroll about electronics reviews and upcoming developments in electronics.

my rankings are dropping now by like 2% a day across 135 keywords.

I think its all niche dependent. How many different websites have you tested that on?

2 and I'm starting a 3rd in a highly compeitive local area. Average cpc $50-$60 and 15 monthly searches

UPDATE: I've been getting really great ranking results. I've outmuscled everybody with aged and PR1+ domains in the 5 towns I'm targeting and I'm getting first place positioning through 7 packs on more than 35 critical keywords out of 100 that I'm now tracking using this method. I also keep populated fresh original blog post articles to the site daily or every two days.

So let me get this straight. You have Page A that you want to rank locally. In the 7 pack or high organic local? Second, you build links to it. But where your real success is coming from is creating a FB Post on your personal account about Page A? The post gets some clicks and traction, and then you boost it so it gets even more clicks and traction to Page A?

you're exactly right. I will add to this that my results are great as I've gone into doing link wheels with the 3-4 tier 1 sites I've created and a combination of drip feeds of HQ links to my main site. Maybe 5-10 a day.

Lastly I've kept up promoting by spending maybe 5-10$ a week on facebook ads promoting posts that get more than 200 views.

Shit dude. You seem to be getting better results than me. Since all my 7 packs disappeared (Google literally removed 90+% of them in my niche) I haven't been ranking for dung. I mean, I have 3-4, #4 rankings, a couple #3 rankings, but it seems that Google has reversed to a pre-panda type of era.

Like everything in my niche looks how it use to look 2 years ago. No 7 packs anymore. It's all organic SERPS now.

If I don't get some pages in the top 2 pretty soon I'm gonna be in a bad spot. But I don't trust GSA. I may add some PBN links and see what happens. My #1 competitor hasn't built a link in 6 f##king months but his site ranks like a rock #1. And it is one of the hardest sites to outrank. I've done it before (when SEO was easier) but I'm not sure if I can do it again.

I've found before that if the 7 packs disappear and you ping your website a few times that day, sometimes they come back. Sometimes even instantly. Could you PM me? I'd like to see what you're working on. Maybe I can contribute something.

I am continuing to be rewarded for my efforts. We now have 20 keywords that consistently stay in 1st place position and 130 keywords in the top 10 position. 450 keywords in the top 25 SERPS. I highly recommend using social signals for local businesses as well as tier linking and interlinking, the results are both powerful and effective.

It's a long term business site but a lot of the content revolves around blogging. Maybe this counteracts the links somehow?

So: blasting site with gsa.
Than adding allot of content sharing it on facebook.
People shre your post.
Meanwhile blasting site with gsa.
You boost facebook post.
Then doing the same proces over and over.

Google algorithm determines that site is maybe authoritive thus making the gsa links not harmfull.

In a nut shell, that's exactly what I have done and it seems to be working. My alexa rank (arbitrary as that might be) has fallen to almost under half a million.

so I have hit a wall. My exposure tracking 500 keywords was about 40% rocking around between 1%-2% difference for probably a month or so. That tells me my method worked but not completely. I have been building links using that same list for my link dripping and I have continued making posts online about topics specific to what I do but they haven't seemed to achieve much for me in terms of exposure increase. I was paying money into Facebook boosting to pay get my posts out to a larger audience and my social traffic skyrocketed up consequentially from about 50 visits to 200 visits daily but it didn't lead to a huge increase in sales. That said many metrics improved and I thought I'm gonna get page ranked up but that never happened. So i decided to explore new techniques.

I started investing money into adsense with a budget that would beat out local competitors. Previously i had not advertised there but the effect was very good because I was able to net a lot more business immediately and I started seeing about 100-200 a day more in terms of incoming revenue. The costs quickly grew though and I started facing about $500/month between display network ads and traditional ads targeting all possible long tail keywords as well as the proven short tails (which have now become extremely expensive). I also have just run flat company ads on Facebook but i was not getting nearly as much social traffic as when i was boosting and sharing individual posts. Then something interesting happened... After one month or running simultaneous Facebook ads and adwords, my page metrics on OSE started climbing above all of my competitors (i'm 10 points ahead of my biggest competitor in comparing link metrics) but also my exposure climbed by about 6% across those 500+ keywords. I'm trying to understand this but I believe it is because the audience is more closely related to my niche. People are spending longer periods of time. I have to believe that the amount of time spent on the site and the type of visitor is related to the growth of my site within that niche. I've noticed more attention from search engines and facebook in terms of tracking the types of visitors that end up on different sites so it seems to me like this ranking method is more acceptable for contemporary purposes. At any rate, it seems to be working and the more I post now the more it climbs for different terms.

I've found social signals to help out a lot in the past. I think that focusing on developing a blog and sharing it through PBN and Facebook helps more than anything.

manual linking i should include has been a great benefit in increasing my DA and I've noticed a parallel increase in exposure when my DA went up.
