What you did wrong is that you did not tried enough. ;)

It seems it needs warming up. When I first stream the video I don't get many views. However on second and third time is when the magic happens.
Also, the time when you stream is important.

I streamed for the same location at different times. One time I barely got a few views, the other time I went over 20,000 views in 30 min.

So keep on testing. Also, try different types of videos.

I think your account got shadow banned. Did you check using a different account to see if you can see the streaming from this problem account?
 
Method will not work, because you cant add clickable link in periscope bio unless you have VIP account, you need to meet certain requirements to get it, its not so easy and then you can get banned any time for doing your marketing...

People do type in/copy-paste and visit the url though. I ran a quick test back when the thread was started, i had only a couple thousand views, i streamed for 2-3 hours and received around 100 clicks to the url, which wasn't actual clicks, but type in/copy-paste traffic.
 
I got the simplest way to broadcast video file
just download FFMPEG and some video and enter this string in command line

Code: 
ffmpeg -v error -re -y -stream_loop -1 -i C:\\video.mp4 -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -maxrate 800k -bufsize 800k -g 30 -r 30 -c:a aac -ar 44100 -ab 90k -ac 2 -strict -2 -f flv rtmp://va.pscp.tv:80/x/XXXXXXXXX

C:\\video.mp4 path to the file
XXXXXXXXX key from periscope

but I have one big problem
No one joined my stream because periscope producer mode doesn't allow to set location, I don't have the button...

how can I fix it?

I tried this methode but my account was banned after 45 min I just let it run after I checked I saw that I was disconnected. but it's a great methode tho I will try it on something else. thank you

i see a lot of streams with the check bio in title. found this post here. wanted to give it a try. i set everything according to OP. i go to "preview broadcast" it says its not found with "user was live" in the browser tab. i go on my own periscope account and it def doesnt show my fake account as live. not sure what i did wrong but its not working through OBS. however when i streamed mmyself playing fortnite through my own account using the "restream.io" option awhile back, it worked fine.

not sure if new accounts now have to be active for a certain amount of days before they can go live *shrug*

edit: setup OBS through restream.io with periscope, still doesnt show i'm live. oh well i'll try again later

edit2: issue is OBS. i was able to go live through the restream site, and using manycam. would prefer to use obs though
