!!! UNTESTED METHOD BUT ITS A TWIST ON A TESTED METHOD !!!

    !revised!
This simple method envolves selling premade websites to laser targeted buyers. Should convert VERY well. It is a spin on a similar method I found here on bhw to big credit to the OP for giving me the idea.

    1. Find your buyers! Go to big G and or yellowpages and do a local search for any small to medium sized business that you don't blieve would already have a website and would benifit from a website. Examples would be doctors offices, dentists, used car dealers, etc. Use you imagination.
    2. Buy the domain name that is an exact match of there business name. You don't have to do this step if your not into taking some risks as it can be considered copyright infringement.
    3. Create a website using a free platform like wordpress, magento, joomla, etc. Find some nice free templetes or themes. To cut out the fluff let's just say make the site very appealing to your target using the target appropriate platform and the targets details (business name, description, phone number, etc).
    4. Sell the site to your target. The most effecient I believe is to simply mail them a letter (USPS not email) using a plain envelope however you must make sure it gets noticed and not tossed in the trash as junk mail. How? Simple. Put the domain name on the front and back in big bold letters. Example: "www.doctorsofficesite.com I own your business" or "www.autoparts.com I own you". Again you dont have to use this strong arm tactic just be creative in making your junk mail stand out from all the rest.
Something like that on the front and back of your envelope will get any business owners attention. They are almost guaranteed to open it. That's when they read your letter with you offering them the sell or your/there website anywhere from $100 to $200 dollars or whatever price you set just price it according to your target. More for doctors and lawyers of course. note: you might not want to use step 2 on a lawyer
    5. Go to commission junction and sign up as a hostgator affiliate, and when you have sold the site to your target make sure you provide them with your affiliate link to purchase the hosting plan. You have just earned yourself an additional $100 dollars! Cha ching!

    Additional optional steps
    6. Provide your target with site maintenance and seo services that you can charge them a monthly fee for.. cha ching!
    7. Rinse and repeat.

If done properly with a nice sales letter clearly explaining benefits and services you could easily get great conversions as long as your target isn't a little corner store that just sells chips and juice. The key is to find the right target and clearly explain all benefits to the target you can also call to pre qualify your targets by asking anyone that answers the phone if they have a website. some companies may not have there sites listed in the yellow pages or the big G. if you happen to catch the owner on the phone when you call then by all means proceed with your sales pitch, but chances are if you calling during business hours they might be too busy and blow you off.

    Nice method,

do you show them the site before they buy or could you just plant the idea in their head and then build the site if they show some interest? I think this way you would minimize your financial risk?

Oh my god. Two things wrong with this method:

    1. Copyright infringement.
    2. You're making a website for a company when you don't even know if they need one or not!

Then you put your aff links at the bottom too?

Kids, do not do this. You will waste your time making websites for companies who don't want them.

Wouldn't this be copyright infringement? Since you are using the name of the business in the domain?

By not showing the site up front your not showing your target that you are committed. You will convert better with a finished product to show. But if you don't have the capital to buy a few domains in advance you could always attempt to sell them on the idea. But the key is to already own there domain so it is amost like extorsion. "I own your domain if you want it pay me" but your just offering them a sweet deal.

it is copyright infringement if it is copywrited. However most local smallbusinesses dontt copyright there business name. Like I said if you want t thank me you can use my aff links to buy the domains if you don't want to thank then you don't have too. If your worried about copyright infringment you could try and sell the idea but it won't convert as well.

Sure some businesse may not need a site. But most businesses want a site, and just don't know how to go about doing which is why you target small businesses instead of corporations.

No I am not using this method yet. I just came up with it a few minutes ago.. but I know it will work. sure its a bit risky but most methods are.

Cost more to secure an atterney to come after you for copyright infringement then it would for a small business to simply buy the site from you. Just don't target lawyers.

I agree with this , and calling the business owner would be better, but this method won't work.

Caling is good aswell. But you may end up getting dismissed because most businesses get lots of calls all day from people trying to sell them something. From my experience (used to sell automotive accessories to businesses and I was able to supply about 70% of the businesses I contacted via mail) calling is ok but you may have to call several times or end up being told to eff off, and I have had better success with just leaving a business card or a simple letter via usps. It gives them a chance to call you when they are not busy running there business.

YOu can make this work in this way:
    (Examples would be doctors offices)
-Make or a buy a medical template
-Go to big G and or yellowpages and do a local search for any small to medium sized business
-Send them a mail or envelope with the template sample, say you can offer (small fee) or free with their logo and info.
    - Tell m you can setup the domain and hosting (affiliate)
    * This way you won't loose money and no legal bs that can get you in trouble.

    True. That will work too.

I am going to look into copyright laws and see if it is legal to own a domain name of a business with a copyrighted name as long as there is no content on it. Or maybe just change the domain name a bit like say. If the businesses name is "ricks auto parts" secure a domain like rickscarparts.xxx.

This bothers me for the fact that you simply made up all of the numbers and conversions. BHW is a community to help each other, not give out untested methods that you make up while sitting on the toilet in an effort to gain more thanks and rep. Don't get me wrong, your effort and desire to share is great. But I could theorize all day on methods that I think would work, however, without testing and some sort of proof it works you are simply misleading people. By the headline and original post, you made it seem like you are banking 300$ per day.

I guess if I have learned anything from OP it's to be WAY more skeptical on these SO CALLED METHODS.

If the domain name infringes on their brand then they can legally take ownership of the domain from you and claim damages for misrepresentation of the business.

No, this IS extortion. Especially with the threatening message on the front and back of the envelope.

And your conversion percentages are pulled from down-under...here's a quick rule of thumb: If you're converting at an 80% rate, your selling point is MUCH too low.

Im not sure about the "I own you" thing. Also some will take offense at you registering their business domain name. The whole thing will reek of extortion. Not a good way to get clients. I do something similar without the strong arm. My method would be to buy a generic niche domain name like yourcitylawyer.com create a demo site and do mailings to local business owners. Its really not a new method though, Im sure plenty of people do this. It does work but like anything it takes a little work.
