It will be next week now. It should take people some time to complete Phase 4 as quite a lot of manual work! Want to make sure I properly answer questions as we go, too.

I've ordered 10 review articles and a 2k pillar article with my kw's by a respected seller here on BHW.
When I recieve them I'll make a nice site. In the future I'll order more, but first this will do.
My KW is so low comp. that with a little off-page SEO my site should rank easily, but I can't wait for phase 5.

I have a question concerning a niche i picked:
4,000+ monthly searches in the us , product with good traction in Amazon , low authority sites ranking in the first page etc.... the only problem is that in the top 5 , there is a yelp-like review site where the company that makes my product is getting absolutely murdered with complaints and bad reviews , and You can see that it has 1 star from 300+ reviews in the first page of google before even clicking on the site .
Would it be safter to just walk away from this keyword ? should i try to increase the ratings by posting reviews of my own ?

Thanks for this amazing post Meathead, I am just about to go into the amazon associates program properly as I have seen some big money made, firstly, I was wondering if you would tell me what would be categorised as a 'bad' niche and 'good' niche? Say i've found a niche I think is really good but it doesn't have many keyword searches for 'best MY NICHE' or 'MY NICHE' Reviews but only the MY NICHE by itself?

Progress report: Only one of the original five that wanted to start this with me to learn how to make money online is finished with all the articles (besides me). Lol. I have low hopes of the others ever finishing to be honest. Oh well.
Just because of this one case study I do not see this type of work ever becoming saturated by the masses. I am also making it a point not to push either.
I can't wait to see how they react to the end result once the sites are making money and my daughter will be able to finance a family trip to Disney with her site alone with cash to spare! (Her idea, the next two will be college money)
Phase 4 in progress. Will be done by Monday!

I'm a sophomore in college doing Computer Science and working part time at a retail job (working 20 hours a week, but pay is not good and have to deal with cleaning up barf and pee sometimes). Thanks for posting this. I am starting it today, using my money from retail job to invest into this and when i make some profit in the next few months my reward is being able to quit the other job.

I've been using iWriter, decently priced and you can ask them to rewrite it if it's not how you like it.

Hi Meathead,
I also wanted to further question the stock photo usage.
According to some sources (istockphotos, shutterstock, and even free stock photos), yes we are allowed to use them as we wish whether it's free or licensed to help support what we're using it for but... The only concern I have is using them as a means of endorsement (Using it as a means of representation, approval, or in support of something) which they strictly do not allow.
Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't that what we're sort of doing by using it as an about us photo?

Yes you can, even one of the top Clickbank e-book called ted woodworking is from istock photo. There's no Ted Lol.
If you're worried, you can skip using photo or use an avatar. Just personalize your about page. Hello my name sarah, i'm an expert in choosing the right mattress for back pain..I created this website because bla bla bla...you could find my research for choosing the best bla bla bla...hope it helps..
For real example, just search on google "best toaster maker", best water cooler system, best ice cream maker, etc. See what they write on about us page and copy the format that you like the most.

You shouldn't be building around one product - your niche should have various products, they can't all have bad reviews?

If the overall niche has enough searches you should be able to find enough relevant keywords. Ideally you want over 1000 searches for the "best" keywords, though, so you might want to pick a larger niche and have the other niche you found as a sub-section.
On my friend's site he did the pillar as a page and the "best" as posts - that seemed to work well.
Sure, no reason why not. If you're not lazy you can write as much content as you want, I'm just suggesting minimums as part of this guide.
I am not a lawyer but I've never heard of this being an issue. It's only a persona on a blog so I doubt you'll have a problem.

I know CA law requires a privacy statement, and I just used the boiler plate one I have. Is this bad it there is a hint of an LLC ownership of the site in the privacy statement?

My point is still valid. You're not going to get that many sales per month. Let's say you get to 6.5% of a product that is $50, if I'm doing math in my head correctly, that's $3.25 which is peanuts.
