If you are looking for a free way to mail-merge with gmail here is a 100% free method that I use for some of my projects.
Found it very helpfull to mail out smaller batches this way.
Merge directly from google sheets - I love it.
When promted - you have to accept your gmail to connect with this code in sheets.
Only mail max 100/day per account - in my experience.
