And a ton of other crazy backlinks, all acquired organically.
Here's a couple worth mentioning.
+ Bustle, Yourtango, Tripsaavy, LatinTimes etc
Yep, it's a specifically niched website about chinese new year. Their backlink profile shows they do this every year on a new domain, not sure why they decided to just stick to one. (Might be the EMD updates, but who knows)
I have been following them for 2 years, way before they did all the 301s from their other domains.
Don't see any sight of intentional link building aside from picking a good, specific niche that no competition which really provides information on (Or maybe translated from chinese) + a really, really good looking site built with middleman app. (w/ a free backlink from them)
Here's the takeaways:
- Provide valuable information on a generic niche.
- Have a nice UX/UI.
- Having a seasonal niche that almost all companies will talk about is a HUGE plus.
(The chinese is a huge spending audience + diversity)
Here's how you can work this to your advantage:
- Have 1 generic piece of content, with all the relevant LSIs. Focus on building links to it.
That article will eventually pay off with organic links from relevant searches. Even if it is not close to your target keywords. (Tried & tested)
- Seasonal niches work. So does taboo, adult or generally anything hard to talk about. (Cancer, terminal diseases etc) Pick a niche with some skin in the game, use your personal story to get press coverage.
Other link opportunities:
