  1. Go to Ahrefs Keyword Explorer and add your main product/niche/topic. Let's say, for this example, "air purifier."
  2. Go to Matching terms and then questions. Look for interesting keywords, and when you find one, click on it to see the SERP inside Ahrefs.
  3. Find websites that rank in the top 5 with a very low domain rating for this term. Make a list of those low DR websites that already have some traffic.
  4. Find websites that rank in the top 5 with a very low domain rating for this term. Make a list of those low DR websites that already have some traffic.
  5. Manually search all those queries on Google to see if some forums and other weak websites rank in the top 10. If all is good --> start writing your blog post.
  6. Write a better, more up-to-date, more in-depth piece to outrank the competition.
That's it.

There's a thread that talks on something similar either shared by you or someone else.
The way I do mine, I don't necessarily go through keyword as I alread know many of my competition.
I use my competition, look for their competing domains, then choose the seemingly weak ones.
Write a better post for the keywords they are ranking for.
Sometimes I still narrow them down to keywords with low difficulty, this one works very well.

The method is good but now with the new Ahrefs Pricing every click is a report used lol
I paid the $200 for May and ended up paying an extra $105 for using extra reports lol Kinda sucks

Semrush ftw

I got one from @kryssluck for around 10 bucks and exported 50k keywords, I won't use Ahrefs anytime soon :D

Shared before on the forum but yes this still works and i use it at times to find a pack of low difficulty kw

Great share, i will try it out to make sure i absorbed the steps so i can add it to routine competition check

Thanks for this. I have read sometimes like this here.

How can I achieve this with semrush? Please

How can we do this with semrush, please??
Ahrefs is out of the budget now

Well, I understand that Ahrefs is expensive but I don't think if you are trying to build a business, you can do so by not investing $100 for a tool. You just need 1 month to do all the keyword research, that's it. Better keyword research gives you an exponential ROI always.

you can look into the "Best By Links" column in Ahrefs and then figure it out from there.
