Fresh do-follow backlinks can be useful, but they can also come from low authority or spammy sites if you're not careful. I would suggest adding an extra layer of filtering - check the domain authority of the source and make sure it matches your niche.

Unless the source is absolutely shitty and flagged/penalized, low quality links would hardly prevent you from ranking. So it wouldn't hurt getting a few more links.

I wouldn't suggest anyone to waste their time doing this method. You will get junk. No backlinks is better than those backlinks tbh
