I'm not sure how other people use ScrapeBox - but a while ago I came up with my own method that I have found to be very effective. A few provisos first; I don't worry about on-topic blogs, I don't check for do-follow no-follow, and I don't check for PR. What are my reasons for this? Well, I can generate so many links that it actually doesn't matter. For this particular method I choose quantity over quality.

Another thing I would like to mention is that this method borrows heavily from others on this forum, in particular Micallef. I've simply adapted the methods for use with ScrapeBox.

Method:

1) First step is to locate a blog that has already been spammed. This is how you are going to find your backlinks. Blogs that already have spammed comments on usually means two things. First; the blog is either auto-approve or else the owner doesn't care what goes on the blog. Second, your comment is much more likely to stick.

2) Once you have found a blog with spammed comments, you need to open up a txt file and then copy and paste the spammers links into the file. Do it in this format:
HTML:
LINK:http://www.spammersURL.com
LINK:http://www.AnotherSpammersURL.com

Keep building this list until you have at least 40 links. Shouldn't take long at all.

3) Open ScrapeBox and paste your list into the harvester. Select Yahoo as the search engine. Make sure you use proxies. Now start harvesting.

What happens is that ScrapeBox will use Yahoo to get all the backlinks the spammers have used. In some cases this will be hundreds of URLs per spammer. If I start with 40 spammer URLs ScrapeBox will usually return between 15k and 20k results. Remove duplicate URLs. You may lose as many as 5k URLs or more. Doesn't matter.

4) Open the ScrapeBox Blog Analyzer. Load your harvested results into the Blog Analyzer and start it running. This may take quite a while to complete. Once done, sort the results by platform, then save the results as an Excel file.

5) Open the saved file into Excel. You are looking for all platforms that are compatible with ScrapeBox. IMPORTANT, make sure you choose blogs that are open to comments and have NO spam protection. Copy all usable blogs into a text file. Name the file 'Sorted for ScrapeBox' or some such.

6) You should end up with between 2k and 5k URLs that are usable. In my experience you will have around a 50% success rate when posting to these URLs. And around 10% to 25% will stick.

I run this method on each of my sites for around one week. Months later I still have thousands of backlinks to each site. This works especially well for aged and trusted domains. But you can cut it back and limit the links for fresh domains.

Great thing is that this is about 15mins manual work. It's very easy and works very well.

+rep, great thread, I'm going to try this later, thanks ;]

I do similar things with Scrapebox and Xrumer links that I find. The method works. Now stop sharing all my good stuff

Just kidding :D - I really never thought about posting it before, I just kinda assumed everyone did it already.

Thats really a good method of using scrapebox, nice thinking ! I was actually doing the same but manually, with backlink checker. This should save me a lot of time :P

could you tell me how to find spammed blogs the first step in your method

thanks in advance

great method, been doing the same, not sure how to tell if i should use BE or WP for the postings. When I use BE, the results are about the same. Kinda of PC Comsuming, trying to find a better way

I use two seperate applications for WP and BE posting, which speeds up the whole process.

Scrapebox is a beast on WP blogs.
MPP is my BE tool of choice.
(I knew it would be asked)

THanks for the guide. These post always inspire me. I have' had Scrapbox for 5 months and have only used it one time and that was for a plug-in feature to extract links from a URL.

I know that it has a lot of other features and I'll have to install it on my PC to see how it goes.

I really think this is a good idea. I had been trying to do this with edu links, but not having a whole lot of luck. Can you provide a few more steps for what you do so total noobs can get it?

Also, wouldn't this flag your domain as a "spammer" domain in the eyes of Google? Won't they say punish your domain because your links are all from bad neighborhoods?

Thanks!

recently found a wierd one.

YSE shows over 20k inlinks for http://hiderefer.org/?http://domain.com/ only 17 for http://hiderefer.org/?http://www.domain.com/

yet carpebox for either version shows slightly over 600 links using Y SE

In order of preference:

  • If you have your own blog, then check for spammers comments and just use the links they leave in order to find all their backlinks.
  • Alternatively ask a friend to forward their spam to you. Or else check the blog lists which have been posted on this forum - after a few hours they are usually full of spam.
  • Finally, some may consider this one a big give-away but what the hell: put this into Google: "powered by blogengine" "tiffany jewelry"
(You can replace Tiffany Jewelry" with any other spammed term, i.e. Viagra, Cialis etc.)

I use ScrapeBox's "slow poster" for all automated commenting. It will auto-detect all usable blog types. It takes a while but I leave it running over night.

.edu links are a different ball game. You can find them, but you need to use a pretty neat custom footprint. Alternatively you can sometimes get lucky a find a spammer who makes heavy use of .edu and .gov sites. Try mixing inurl:.edu into your search footprint.

As for getting your domain flagged. I don't know about that...though a lot of people say it can happen - so for that reason I don't push this method too hard on new domains (less than 1 year). You can still use this method - but just post to between 100 and 200 blogs per day. This will give you between 20 and 50 backlinks each day which stick, and should keep you safe. As for having links coming from a bad-neighbourhood this shouldn't matter too much so long as all you links are not from the same sort of places.

You assumed everyone uses scrapebox like the method shown above? You think very highly of people on this forum then :D

Well, honestly I did just because it's a logical approach. I'm a big believer in not reinventing wheels, while also trying to extract every ounce of efficiency out of a process possible. Once it's highly tuned, I turn it over to a team of outsourcer's who I have handle one part per outsourced worker at a time so that none of them can compare notes and put together the whole process.

Let's face it, if I want to build a list of guestbooks to post to, I can spend days letting hrefer or SB harvest from google, then run the app, then see what one's stuck, then start a list, then re-harvest... yada yada. OR, I can pop a bunch of adult material URL's into market samurai's rank tracker, see which one's pop up with 80K+ backlinks, use SB to harvest google's indexed links, and have a much larger chunk of a great list done and ready to go in 1/10th of the time...

Things like this seem obvious to me, and I'm the one left feeling like an idiot when I realize that so few other people are doing this type of thing.

2 Rules:
Never reinvent a wheel
Allows make it as easy as possible for a wheel to roll ... FAST

Following those rules have always lead me to the best results in the shortest period of time. No time is waste hoping, wondering, wishing, and slaving away on inefficiency. In this case, I'll let everyone else do my harvesting, testing to see which comments auto approve, etc. - I'll just worry about the posting part because we know that the "Wheel" of comment back linking works... it's just a matter of how fast I can get that wheel spinning.

FOR INSTANCE:
I'm not trashing the OP here. I'm just telling you how I do it...

2) Once you have found a blog with spammed comments, you need to open up a txt file and then copy and paste the spammers links into the file. Do it in this format:

Yeah, but I don't like sitting there and mindlessly clicking. Instead I will put the URL (or a bunch of them) into SB's harvested section and run SB's Link Extractor checking only for outbound links. It takes only a few seconds to pull hundreds instead of the 5 or 10 minutes to pull 30 or 40.

Efficiency! You have Tools, USE THEM!!!!

To be VERY VERY VERY clear
I am in no way bashing the OP. I just do it differently. There are advantages to doing it manually but for the time I save that I can spend with my family, I'm will to give them up.
