Hello BHW,
I am not a Guru, this thread is just for organizing yourself.
Goal setting is something that each one of us has tried, but the end result is always the same: FAILURE
You will need the following things before we can start :-
1. What is your end Goal?
2. Why this Goal? [your why]
3. How are you going to achieve it?
Now, here comes the real part -
1. What is your end Goal?
For example - Let's say that you are making $1k/month.
Wrong- I want to make $10k/month by the end of 2019
It is good to have long term goals, but just have it in your mind.
Also, focus more on monthly or weekly Goals. [8 months is a long time for goal setting]
If you are currently making $1k/month, have a goal where you can 2x or 3x your revenue.
Reason:- If you will fail to achieve the goal of making $10k/month, it will lower your self- confidence.
Right - I want to 1.5x my current Income/Profit.
Here, the most important thing is that you are giving your mind a signal that there is nothing humongous to do, you just have to 1.5x the things making you most of the money.
If you continue achieving the goals per month then, you will be at $25.6k/month in 8 months.
Wrong- I want cool cars and hot babes.
Have you ever felt broke while convincing your parents or yourself for buying something?
Have you ever met someone who was homeless, and you wanted to give him/her some money, but you didn't have the money.
You know that buying ad space on BHW will give your business the boost it needs, but you can't afford it.
Or anything that hurts you
Anything that makes you feel bad.
It should hurt you, that is the whole point.
Right - I want to build this business so that I and my family have never to think about the expenses of the next day.
You can certainly feel the emotion while reading the sentence above. You should be able to connect with what you are saying.
3. How are you going to achieve it?
Break down your Goal into small chunks, also called chunking.
For example - If you currently have 10 clients paying you $100 per month. And your goal is to 1.5x your monthly revenue then,
# Add one more level to your business.
Add some more features to your current offering, keep in mind to add only those features which you can scale further.
Pricing:- If you can get only 2 of your current clients for your new $350 package then you achieved your monthly goal.
# Get more clients
Double your ad spend, hire more VA's or employees.
If you can get 5 more clients at the current price, then you have achieved your monthly goal.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
