haha Lord, I am actually transitioning out of this model since I started my IR/rep management company. I just figured since I'm new to the forum it makes sense to share some value and get to know everyone.

What I am really "on here to do" is keep ahead of the competition by learning faster

Yep!

Buy the product for say...$1500, then sell it for more. Its an old business but enhanced greatly using social media.

Great informative post. The key is finding a good niche for this method.

The organic reach on Facebook page is really low. How many fans can you reach per post? What is the size of your follower base?

Yes, which is why I don't use a page, and use a personal FB account. But you raised a great point, I forgot to mention that you should try to get friends > followers because of the higher reach.

I saw that real friends on facebook in real life are the ones that really interact, of all the others, interaction is very small, but of course if you look like as a guru, probably is very different, need to do lots of interaction on forums, may be facebook groups, and on other platform, to build up the follower

There are a lot of people selling different kinds of clothing on Instagram. Jordan's are hot right now and maybe some electronics like beats would work too. Try to stick with bigger items as the margin is better.

You don't want to ship an item you only profit 50 cents selling, it's just not worth it.

You're right. I would not bother with clothing or electronics personally though. This method is more for flipping big ticket items.

Here are some ideas:

-purses
-jewelry
-instruments
-cars (market might be too transparent)

The only problem is that you need the money in the first place in order to buy said product to resell for a higher value...

So make some money using a normal job...its not hard to come up with the start-up capital for this method.

Thanks. So after reading your OP, the gist of this method is simply buying products for less and reselling at a higher value?

I definitely understand the barrier to entry being that you have to have the funds to start with. I still like learning about other people's models even if I'm not really looking to go in that direction so... thanks!

That's the mechanism in which money is generated, however the method described enables you to

a) market your own products and artificially inflate the price so that you always make a profit
b) create connections with celebrities who will have you resell items which they have owned creating instant margins
c) develop a reputation through which people will be willing to pay more to deal with you than the average "sketchball333" off ebay.
d) have a network through which individuals will come to you and ask you to broker deals for several hundred dollars each for risk free profit
e) Ultimately end up with an advertising platform through which you can sell ads and/or make affiliate sales.

and the list goes on. Yeah, it is technically reselling, but this is a method to resell that I used for the last two years.

I haven't tried this exact same method, but i have collected users from Micro Job websites that are returning customers. Those who ask for proof, believe me, it's not needed. This is a very simple method that will work. If you do your best for your customers, no matter is it on social media, forum or any kind of website, if you respect them and build up reputation, trust me, they will never let you down. While i am not making even half of those money that the OP stated that makes, the formula he posted is simple and i guarantee that it will bring at least 10K$+/year if you follow what is said here.

There's no reason you can't try to apply it in any country. I am in Canada and my Canadian-ness has caused MAJOR issues for me. I lose a lot of potential income because I sometimes have to move product from the US to Canada first and incur import taxes when that happens - and then if someone in the US ends up buying, they have to pay tax again. Europe is kind of hard for my niche, but maybe it would work for a different niche.

The other issue with not being in the US is that people were initially a little reluctant to send cash outside of the US to a foreign country, even if the country is Canadian. Obviously its not a problem for me anymore but it was a bit of a barrier I had to overcome.

You are 100% correct, customer care is crucial. When someone complains that a product arrived damaged, scratched, etc... I don't even ask for pictures, I just call them, ask what they would feel is reasonable, and then I pay them more than that. Again, this depends on your niche, but if you're selling luxury products, then the people buying from you are probably making $80,000+ a year and they don't have time to try and scam vendors like us which is why I don't bother asking for proof. If I do ask for proof I phrase it like this, "Would you mind sending me some pictures of the damage and packaging so I can make sure this doesn't happen again in the future?". That way they feel better too.

I have had 5-6 instances where I sent someone something and they complained about damage on the product, then I compensated them, and they have ALL come back to me except for one guy.
