It's a good strategy and I'm using it since YSE got down.
But remember that you will probably not find the comments of those who are using good spinned comments.
True. You can also take the comments and spin them with your spin software. I have got some good links doing this in the past.
There is an addon for SB that checks the OBL.
I usually run the list through pr checker, then check the OBL of the PR domains.

When it's done grabbing comments, it saves them into the main scrapebox folder.

I've used the OBL checker and it crashes if I check more than 10k links
I have had some issues with this before as well. That's why I Grab the .edu and .govs, run the list through PR check, and then run through OBL check.
In my experience this yields the most quality comments.

Sweet guide,rep given.I had started doing but you've made it clearer.I was using this sorta idea but using trackback comments(to find AA trackbacks).
I was using the comment in the custom footprint,well I had the right idea lol,thanks again for the guide.

Like I said before. The post #34 on the first page gives a much easier way of doing this. Don't have to leave scrapebox at all. Check it out.

i have a question, which link checker are you using? the standalone one or the one on SB? Sometimes the one on SB doesn't get all the live links while the standalone one is giving me a lot of pages with "comment" but they all lead to the same page. See example below.
Currently testing whether the link checker on SB will give me the "comment" links. I'm considering just removing all urls with "comment" on them.
