This method involves creating a video to act as a funnel to your money video, which you will put a fake ad at the beginning of and when the user clicks the (fake) "3..2..1..skip ad" button, they will actually be clicking an annotation which is linked to your money video.
Here's how to do it...
1. First, we're going to find a "funnel" video.
For your funnel video, you want to download a genuinely viral video that people will genuinely be searching for and want to watch.
We do not want to make it a fake video. This is because we want people to watch the video past the ad and the full way through to get high retention views, for them to like it and comment on it so that the funnel video gets popular and higher ranked on youtube, which in turn will mean more money for your site.
Once you've found a good funnel video that you think will get lots of views, download it using a site such as keepvid.com. If you're stuck for ideas, try going on a music blog and uploading a new song by a popular artist.
2. Now we want to create the fake ad.
To do this, you're going to want to download some screen recording software such as camtasia.
If you have adblock on your browser, make sure to disable it. Now, we're going to go on youtube and watch videos until one has the type of ad at the beginning that has the "3..2..1..skip ad" button appear in the right hand corner. As soon as you get a video with an ad like that, pause it.
Now go on your screen recorder software and start it recording. Then go to the video with the ad, make it full screen and then start recording. When the "skip ad" option appears, just ignore it and let the ad play the full way through. Once the ad is finished, you can stop the recording.
3. Now we want to create the funnel video.
Open your favourite video editing software and import the video of the ad. Crop it down so it looks natural and place the ad on the timeline, followed by the video that you downloaded in step one. Render the video so it is ready to upload.
Now we want to create a new youtube account or log in to one you don't really care about because if youtube catch on, they're not going to like it and you don't want to risk losing an account with videos you care about on it.
Upload the video, give it a nice title, tags, description so it will get lots of views. DO NOT monetize the funnel video because that means there will be a real ad on it and if there's a real ad, people will realize your fake ad is fake.
Once the video is uploaded and processed, go to annotations and create a blank, clear annotation over the "skip ad" button in the fake ad and link it to your money video. It is better to make it open in a new tab otherwise people will just click back once they realize what they've done.
You now have your funnel video! Now rinse and repeat and make your funnel videos viral!
It's VERY IMPORTANT to make sure that your funnel is similar to your money video in the sense that people who find the funnel video interesting will also find your money video interesting. Otherwise, they're just going to click back off it as soon as you see what they've done. You've got to hook them immediately.
Another good tip is to log into another account and leave a comment on the funnel video saying how awesome your money video is and make it the highest rated comment. That way, when people click the "skip ad" onto your money video, they will be hesitant to click off it as they have already read about it the comments or if they haven't read the comments yet and do click off it, they might go back on it once they've read the comments and regret clicking off it.
