Method from Craigslist with a little spin

Ok, I'm sure some of you have seen the thread about posting something in the free section of CL and then sending them an email that says sorry you have already gave the product away but go here(offer) and you might find what your looking for. It's in more detail on the thread but I couldn't find it.

Some of the problems were having to manually submit each email back to the people because having a regular auto responder from your email would usually draw suspicion and therefore the post would get removed. Another problem was if you weren't to good with finding something unique to say your giving away for free, example: saying you were giving away a free iphone lol, this would immediately get your post flagged.

Well I thought of some solutions for this and none of my post have got taken down yet.

If you don't have a delayed auto responder which I don't, I have been just using the gmail one, I would set it up kind of like an away message and say sorry guys I'm out of the office right now, and if your responding to my craigslist post then I will try to get back to you asap if I have not already given it away and if I don't respond then I probably did. And right below my last sentence I simply put "Sponsored Ad by Google" and put my offer right below it.

Example

Sponsored Ad by Google
Simply enter your email address for a free green iPhone
(link here)

This makes it look like its not you thats telling them to go complete the offer therefore they have no problem with it and you will still get a ton of clicks off of this because its what they are looking for!

Now if you are having trouble thinking of something legit to say your giving away free, (their are a ton of people looking for free stuff so this gets a lot of responses), I will say something like my iphone got ran over and the screen is totally broke but it still turns on. I just got a new phone so I don't need this one anymore and maybe someone could fix it but I just don't need it anymore. Stuff like that looks legit and doesn't get those flaggers out taking your ad down.

What do you mean?

he means how do you ad the "sponsored ad by Google" to the bottom of the email.

blachta, just hit enter a few times when you are done typing you message and add it that way.

I like the second tip but read about forwarding gmail to thunderbird or outlook, voila free delayed autoresponder with 5 minutes of setup

It just depended on what I was giving away and how well the offer related to it, and I also recommend from doing this to do it more in the evening when people are at home on their computers than at work or something because a lot of people responded from their phone, so that they will see the link easier and click on it more often.

Does anyone know if you can post ads/ HTML in your signature on Gmail?

For some reason my Gmail is not working right now.

From what I found Gmail wont let you put html in the signature.

I think I found a work around for it.

That sounds like a nice little Gmail "hack", but from what I'm doing it allows it. How does yours not?

There are a lot better ways to market in the free section, I applaud you for thinking outside the SQUARE on this one, I won't give you the entire 3 dimensional box because this method, just doesn't fit in.

Why not? You are totally taking away the essence and POWER of direct relationship marketing, you're using indirect marketing. Chances are 50% of the people won't see that "google ad". Once they have read "i'm sorry" they will close the email.

It's a really good method if you want to LOSE MONEY and LEADS.

Thanks for the input and I guess thats why you put "I'm sorry" towards the end of your message. It's made me money and my post stay up every single time. To bad I don't have a cat. Actually the way this got typed up was from my dog taking a shit on the keyboard.
