Threads like this give BHW a bad name. I remember a similar thread about a year ago, and when I called the OP an idiot I got neg repped calling me a "pussy".

I work my ass off to make my cash. Yes, I do well, but I certainly have not got here scamming people or being a straight up fraud. It's that attitude that will either make you bankrupt or end you up in jail.

Come on guys. I think the OP's just trying to help out.

It's not like he's a criminal. You do scam some people but the internet just comes with its risks (especially when freelancing here and there).

There is a big difference in unethical or fraud activities... Just because they can't prove that they worked for 15 mins and then you kicked them out, is not gonna become legitimate or black hat stuff... We do manipulate rules or exploit any loophole we find in any system but it's definitely no scamming others... For example we use cloaking to get better and easy ranking and to fool search engines but we are not cheating people out of their time and money...

If you don't have fat wallet then it's your problem, very few had money when they started but they kept working and now got their money without scamming others...

Better to work hard then stealing and at least don't tell others that you are proud of it by making such thread...

So its fine to post fake job ads on CL and get unemployed and desperate people to fill credit card report and background check offers but what op suggests makes him immoral and an idiot? Till recently even ewhoring and csing was widely accepted here even though its pure fraud but I don't remember anyone complaining how dishonest it was. I'm not supporting OPs idea but i find the reactions to this thread extremely hypocritical considering that many of the methods here are based on taking advantage of other people.

That's rough. I prefer to just pay honest workers for my websites. I make money off the websites so why shouldnt they be paid for designing them?

I think this is pretty pathetic. What goes around comes around. You don't exploit people for their honest work.

A better variation would simply be to tell them: "Do the work. If the site makes money, you'll be paid x 1.5 when the project is profitable."

I started out like that a few years back when I had no money to invest in staff and outsourcing and couldn't build a site to save my own life, and those projects turned out to be worth multiple 6 figures. And the programmer is now working full-time for me

Lets be clear I don't think this is such a good idea (well at least the part about not paying) it's a very good idea to get something done cheap though just make sure you actually play.

With that being said,

For everyone here calling this guy a 2 bit theif and yada yada... If you've ever downloaded something off the download sections and didn't pay the original creator. You're just as guilty of the same thing.

Have you ever downloaded a movie off of a torrent site or dreamweaver or microsoft office or any product you would normally have to pay for?
