This is a method I borrowed from SEO specialist from Ukraine who made the script for it. Here's his blog http://mz.kiev.ua/blog.html . I'll share this method and another one of his later, the other one allows to find a list of keywords that none of your competitors use in PPC. If you know russian you can read everything here: http://mz.kiev.ua/blog/api-serpstat-7-scripts.html

Things you'll need:

1. Access to Serpstat's API. $49 or if you have a friend using it you can borrow a token from them.
2. This link: http://mz.kiev.ua/tools/serpstat-get-forum-threads.php
3. This thread
or knowledge of Russian language (Reading this thread will be enough to understand what's going on there)

Let's go.

Open the page from that I linked above and this is what you get
aRd7pG8

that's pretty much all the russian language that you need.

Here's how it works, i'll run guitarcenter.com through this script:
RwA69Cj

I chose to find forums relevant to 50 keywords from guitarcenter.com in google us.

Here's the data I got:

e4PupGH

Total number of forums that I've found is 33. Keep in mind that I only ran analysis on 50 keywords, depending on the number of keywords you want to analyze from your domain you can find thousands of domains.

All of the pages in the list are relevant forums where your target audience hangs out.

I remember you created a thread around free Serpstat membership....is it still applicable?

I don't think so. That was some promo they did back then. I follow them closely but haven't seen anything on their blog about it other than their price change thing and 50% discount if you buy a subscription for 3 years.

Their support are fine with giving free access to basic plans for a few days but I don't think they allow to use API in test mode.

Basically it's all about finding already ranking high in google - forums threads (by your keywords) right?

Great thread, but is there no other possibility than investing 49$ for an API account?
Best Regards

Thanks. Unfortunately there isn't because you need access to Serpstat's API. You can get free access to Serpstat by contacting support and pretending to be a blogger or agency and that you want to test it, but they don't give access to API for free, I tried.

If the API's for proxies, yeah I can get it for relatively cheaper.

I will keep this thread in mind but OP, can you please explain why this method of 'keywords searching' is more effective than other ways of targeting a keyword search? And how do I set it/twerk it so it will only come out results from 'forums' instead of online ecommerce shops?

Thanks OP.

It's not for keyword searching. It's for finding forums where you can gain relevant natural links as part of content/linkbuilding strategy.
As for keyword searching I've posted another thread that you may find interesting, here's the link: http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/me...-page-with-good-and-relevant-keywords.849703/ — This method allows you to borrow keywords from pages similar to yours. So you'll get list of pages that you don't use but your competitors rank for in top-10 (or 20, not sure). These keywords are highly relevant and bring traffic to other pages but not yours.

I love this and serpstat looks like a good tool in general. I'd like to give this a try but $49 is a lot without knowing it's worth it. Maybe a group buy/test drive?

Set up scrapebox to scrape only first 10 results from google, put your keywords and hit scrape. When your list is scraped remove urls that not contain forum, thread, topic and boom, you have high ranking relevant forums posts you can post on. For free (if you own scrapebox)

Interesting approach. But you'd have to set it to scrape more than 10 results, because forums rarely rank in top-10. Plus you'd have to do that manually for every keyword. This script does that for 100 results for the keywords that you rank for. In this example it got the results for 50 keywords, you can set it to a 1000 and get a huge database of forums.

Good thread, thanks for the share. There is gem in other language tutorials indeed.

So, you are in no way connected with Serpstat?
Not exactly. I work for an agency and our boss is a friend of their CEO. So I know about it more than their average user. And it's the only thing I know about enough to share stuff here.
