Here is some backstory to this 'method.'
I was looking around in this forum a few months ago. I was one of those people who was looking to make some extra money online. Not an insane amount, but to just get some extra money for when I was doing nothing in my house instead of doing nothing.
I tried many methods in this forum. Unfortunately, I spent lots of hours and got almost nothing to show for it. And also, lots of them required some startup money, which I did not have.
This method basically works 100% of the time (yes, 100%) if you are willing to put in the work. Don't get me wrong, it's not a get rich quick method, but if you work on it, you will make some money 100%. My first week doing this, I worked on it about 15 hours in my spare time and got $100. Basically the more time you put into it, the more you will get out.
The basics idea of this method is that you will be transcribing videos for a company that helps get captions in videos for people who are deaf. What that means is that you will be typing everything that people say in a video.
What you will need:
Good knowledge of the English language.
Good Typing skills.
Your computer.
Step 1: Getting started
-You are gonna go https://www.workmarket.com.
-Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click: Join us on Work market.
-Create your account at the bottom of the page.
Step 2: Confirm & Pass test
-After creating your account, you two emails.
-One of those emails is to confirm your work market account. Make sure to confirm that. (work market is the platform that Crowdsurf uses to pay it's workers.)
-The second email Should be one that says you need to take a test in order to work for crowdsurf. You will need to pass that test with at least an 80% score. It's a test on their general rules on how you should write down things, And it's about 17 questions long. Basically just read their small 1-page rules about how to transcribe, and you should be set.
-Once you have passed the test, you need to wait around three days, and the'll send you an email with your actual log in information to their actual website where you will be doing the transcribing.
Step 3: Work
- When you get to the interface, you can already get started on transcribing.
-Each video is about 17-20 seconds long and pays about $0.10. If you are a good listener and a good typer, you can get each one done in about 1.5 minutes.
-The work that you do will be payed to your work market account, there you can withdraw it. What's great about Crowdsurf is they usually give you the money within one day. Sometimes a lot faster than that.
- They also have big bonuses, like giving you extra money if you do a certain number of videos in a week. Like a $20 bonus for doing 500, or $50 for doing 1000 in a week. Another one would be an extra $33 if you did 600 minutes worth of video in a week.
*Note: They do have a system to make sure you actually do the work, which is the Quality Score (QC). Basically what you type is reviewed by another person, and your work gets ranked on a QC between 1 to 4. To keep working for them, you need to maintain a QC of at least 3.5 each week. To get the Bonus, you need a QC of at least 3.85.
Step 4: Automating???
-While working at Crowdsurf, you can also do reviews. While doing reviews, I notice that lots of them look like they were just written by a voice reader (those programs that you say stuff and they automatically write down what you said.)
-If you can somehow utilize the a program like that and create a script to auto plays the sound of each video and gets the program to type it. Then just have your script copy it and paste then go onto the next video. And repeat.
-The problem with this is that because people will review your tasks and the program will make a lot of mistakes, you will probably end up with a QC of less than 3.5, which like, it needs to be higher than 3.5 for you to keep working for them.
But anyway, this is not a get rich quick method, but rather a way that you can either get some extra cash on your spare time, or work on it for like a month and get a few hundred dollars to get started on your actual project on interest.
