Linkvertise is legit.
For op to reach that CPM is unrealistic. He must have the "App Download and Open" and 'Run Affiliated Software" options checked. In my niche, some people are willing to go through the efforts of downloading and running some sketchy app just to get to the link, but I still disable all options except for the "Read An Interesting Article" option because I tend to get way more clicks that way and sometimes my links wouldn't get clicks at all when leaving the other options on. Op clearly is either leaving something out of the method or is just inspect elementing his stats. I highly doubt GFX artists are willing to go through the efforts of downloading and running software just to see a reference image.
Op's original post aside and as proven by the replies, the method seems to work for generating some clicks which actually is an accomplishment. For the sake of brainstorming, maybe if you disguised the fact that it was your linkvertise links, then the artists would be more willing to click on it? Make a site of a fake artist persona's portfolio, but everything in their portfolio is behind a linkvertise. State in the DM's "can you make GFX in a similar style to this guy (send link to fake portfolio)". Other than that I don't see it paying out the way op shows.

b1. Redirect visitors to some of your pages with CPM ads from display ad network and drive them to your LP with logo after 5 seconds
c1. redirect visitors to interstitial ad and send them to your LP after timeout
