I want to buy a headset, but I prefer to wait till either the new headset is third in price or the next version for definite. I think as a programmer, you need to be as there is much development happening. Some companies are asking for AR credentials on job applications. Would be good to program some stuff to sell in a metaverse somewhere.

As far as Metaverse goes, it's a lot like corporate VR chat. It's about as exciting as it sounds. Maybe it's just a proof of concept that wanted to overachieve or just a case of expectations not lining up with what the product actually is. Then again, Second Life seems to have nailed what Metaverse wanted to be or what people thought it would be. The Oculus Quest is pretty solid for a VR peripheral though so there's that, at least.

Metaverse is shite and will not be around anymore in the following years. I've just read how much $ Zuck has already spent on Meta, even though not many people use it. I do not know anyone that would be willing to buy the VR set, just to fly around Metaverse.

It's boring af out there in the metaverse.
I own a headset too and been trying a couple stuff in it. To do some cardio it works great because of some of the games out there, but other than that, it's boring and a waste of money and time.
