I want to buy Bloktopia. A friend told me to do this:

you need matic, then you convert matic from erc to native matic, send to metamask, add custom RPC for polygon, go on QUICKSWAP and swap it for BLOK

I added Metamask to my browser. I added the custom RPC for Polygon to my Metamask. I connected Quickswap to my Metamask. Okay...

I have some LTC in Exodus that I want to use to buy Bloktopia. From a Google search I got this:

Currently, Exodus only supports the ERC20 version of MATIC

Okay, great. So how do I proceed here? Do I trade my LTC for Matic on Exodus, then send that Matic somewhere to trade it for native matic, then send that to Metamask and buy Bloktopia? I don't understand the difference between matic and native matic.

Oooor does Metamask only accept Ethereum - so I need to convert LTC to ETH, then send the ETH to Metamask, then convert the ETH to Matic on Metamask (or Polygon, or Quickswap), then convert the Matic to Bloktopia?

Ughhh...

Can anyone help me out?

Bloktopia (BLOK) available on multiple exchanges with the USDT pair, so you dont need to take these long routes.

If you want to use QuickSwap, you can buy BLOK with WMATIC or USDT/USDC

But, you can also use Bitrue or KuCoin to trade BLOK against USDT (no KYC needed for small amounts), so your short route will be exchange your LTC to USDT and then buy BLOK.

I can't do KYC. I'm 5 years old.

So what are you saying, I should convert the LTC to USDT, send the USDT to Metamask, then trade it for Blok using QuickSwap?

Because you are on the wrong network. You would need to use a bridge but LTC is the wrong token to use.
You would need additional eth to transfer.

It would be much easier to get matic from an exchange directly and withdraw it to matic. f.e.
https://www.binance.com/en/fee/cryptoFee and search for matic, you see the different networks.

If you really get down to it, you can access the tokens in your exodus wallet from your metamask as well, but I would not go there.

Decide what you want to do with your ltc - if you want to exchange it, it will be costly:
exchange for something you can bridge (not sure you can transfer matic directy) for a cost, transfer that through a bridge for a cost, then exchange eth there for matic for a cost.
It will be cheaper just to register for ftx (which seems to have no withdrawal fees at the moment), binance or else or check which other exchange you are already on.

make sure your cex allows cheap withdrawl onto the matic network (not erc20!), buy matic, make a test transfer to your metamask (always check) and add the address to your address book.
transfer the matic you want, go directly into quickswap, buy.

If you cannot do the things because you are 5 years old: pay a friend the dollars, have him buy matic, and send it to your address.

You dont need KYC both on Bitrue and KuCoin for small amounts (~1BTC)

It will be simple and cheaper to send your LTC to the exchanges above, convert to USDT and trade USDT/BLOK

the beauty of dex is that even if you do not have usdt, the dex will do the trade route for you, it is just a bit longer, slightly more expensive.
USDT might be easier but will likely be more expensive to transfer around which is why I would just stick with matic itself.

It will be simple and cheaper to send your LTC to the exchanges above, convert to USDT and trade USDT/BLOK

except that most exchanges have a minimum withdrawal fee of 10 usdt. :)

But I agree, you can send ltc to a exchange, convert it to something else and then send it back to the matic network. Iirc however, many exchanges do not allow withdrawal to the network - you can withdraw matic to ERC20.So check in your case -there are many ways to your blok token.

Thanks for the replies. This is all a massive pain in the ass :D

I just want to make 5 LTC disappear from Exodus and make ? BLOK appear somewhere under my control, with no KYC. And of course to do it in the least costly way.

I'm not asking for much, am I?

My friend told me he'd jump on skype tonight and tell me how to do it using Metamask. If he disappears or something, then I guess I'll do the exchange thing.

Still would have to make sure there's actually no KYC, and no KYC for the amount I'm playing with, and that I can move my BLOK from the exchange to some wallet, and where to move the BLOK to where I have the control (private key, seed phrase, etc).

What a fucking pain in the ass...

You know, I'm reminded when I was learning to drive when I was 18 years old, and I was given a young guy/instructor to teach me. After 2 lessons I asked for a different teacher. Then I got an old guy. I did this because the young guy wanted to teach me the shit behind it, the technical aspects of how the car works, etc. Then the old guy came in, and just taught me how to fucking drive and pass the test to get my license. I passed the test on first try and I had a nice day.

Point is, I don't need to know the shit behind it, just tell me what to fucking do to accomplish my goals (in this case no kyc and least expensive).

To this day I still don't know the technical shit behind how a car works, and I still drive. Amazing isn't it :D

looks like the highest volumne is on kucoin
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bloktopia
which also has a non kyc option
https://support.kucoin.plus/hc/en-us/articles/360015102254-About-KYC-Verification
so your best bet would be to setup the kucoin account, send ltc to kucoin (I urge again: it costs money but do the test transfers).

https://withdrawalfees.com/exchanges/kucoinseems like it is 200 blcok for withdrawal fee, about 20$. Kucoin is not that cheap with withdrawal but this is okay.

note:
  • I dont have blok and dont know which network it needs to be on at the end, please make sure to check.
  • i would consider keeping some of the ltc since it is still low. once it is on kucoin, set a selling order for 400 per ltc or so, and forget about it.
  • later you can transfer it into something else and then withdraw it to your wallet of choice
agreed it is a pain in the ass, but it is more about "how do I set this up, where do I have no kyc, what are the transfer / withdrawal fees like" and then you get used to the process for the future.

Forgot to mention the alternative: if you have a friend you can trust:
He can buy your blok and send them to your wallet, you 'pay' him by sending exodus to his exchange address.

Nice, thanks.

So I registered on Kucoin and I sent 1 LTC.

How the hell do you convert coins on there? I can't figure it out.

Kucoin has a feel of Binance, and Binance has a convert option where you can convert one coin into another. How do you do that on Kucoin? I can't find the option anywhere.

I watched a tutorial that said to use the "Instant exchange" option, but then I don't have that option in my account. Then I did a google search and it seems the "instant exchange" was removed a few months ago.

So the pain in the ass continues :D

How to convert one coin into another on Kucoin?

Ok so apparently there's no converting on Kucoin like on other platforms. They work in pairs.

Sooo long story short I had to convert LTC into USDT, and then convert USDT into BLOK.

My 1 LTC got me 2,132 BLOK.

I got the BLOK at $0.093259. It's unfortunate because when I opened this thread yesterday BLOK was at around $0.08.

Well anyway, when BLOK does 100x my $200 will be worth $20,000, and then finally life won't be so crappy anymore. I'm gonna go bake a cake or something :D :D :D

I haven't use metamask wallet in past and I'll like to know what the experience about, I hold LTC private wallet with Ravencoin but I do not know the use of metamask wallet!

I can't really help you there. I just added Metamask to my browser yesterday. It's just like a browser extension.

But then I "connected" QuickSwap and Polygon with my Metamask, and I found it a bit weird. I didn't have to create accounts on Quickswap and Polygon. I think you can trade on those sites through your Metamask wallet.

But then on Metamask in order to like receive a crypto, you have to add that crypto network information into your Metamask wallet.

I don't know, it's kinda complicated. That's why I ended up buying BLOK on Kucoin and not on Metamask.

I guess it's not that complicated to figure out Metamask if you have someone give you a few pointers or if you have the time to dig online. But I don't have either, so I don't really understand it all that well, yet.

welcome to the world of decentralized blockchains. :) your wallet basically is your account.

Actually you dont need to add them, since metamask is just your front end to your blockchain wallet.
With Metamask you are managing / confirming your transactions with sites like Quickswap.

For Matic, if you go to polygonscan.com/tokenholdings?a=0xYOURWALLETADDRESS
replace the 0xYOURWALLETADDRESS with your wallet address

https://polygonscan.com/tokenholdings?a=0xYOURWALLETADDRESS
you can see all token in your wallet. Metamask just needs to know to display a network / a token, which is why you have to add them manually.

There are other tools to watch your wallet / display #defi results like this example with a strangers wallet
https://tin.network/en/dashboard/0x5679D808F2734F8B09f26F4Cb0a7FB0439dbeBfb

For quick adding of networks I recommend
https://chainlist.org/

Which is great for holding / selling them. However if you want to use them in a game, you would need to have them in your wallet, since something like metamask would be used to 'proof' you have the token.

And: no matter what people tell you there is NOTHING wrong with having things on a centralized exchange for the purpose of selling this cycle. hth

How much would be considered "small"?

anything which you are comfortable with in regards to KYC - and the restriction of each platform.

In case of kucoin that is listed here
https://support.kucoin.plus/hc/en-us/articles/360015102254-About-KYC-Verification
On the platform there are usually no restriction for trading (unless you go really high), the problem is always getting the money out again.
I see that they got a daily withdrawal limit of 5 BTC for KYC1 verified users. Do you know what is the limit for unverified, can they even move funds in and out at all?

What about bitrue? Do you know what is the deposit and withdrawal limit for unverified members? I don't buy crypto from anyone that requires any kind of verification, always used other ways that can be more expensive or time consuming (driving to crypto ATMs) and would appreciate an online exchange that respects the most important premise of crypto, which is not attaching IDs to wallets and storing them.

u - where did you get the 5btc from? I read it as 1btc for unverified and kyc1 - which should be enough for most people, given that 1btc is over 60k at the moment. :)
