You used to be the gold standard of digital ads.

Now?

You're a black box of chaos.

  • Budget doubled, performance halved.
  • Zero consistency. Zero logic.
  • One day it converts like magic — the next, it’s a graveyard of bots and ghost clicks.
We test creatives, optimize landing pages, warm audiences, CAPI, pixel, you name it… and still end up chasing shadows.

Meanwhile, Meta just keeps sipping our budgets like it’s fine wine

We’re not crazy — it’s the system that’s broken.

Who else feels like Meta’s “AI” just spins a roulette wheel with our money?

Let it out in the comments — what’s your latest Meta horror story?

Please try to keep it short next time, I don't want to read such a long article.

I want to let you know ,you are not alone
The right approach is multiple accounts across same platform and other channels
The final is always the sales and that could come from anywhere
Trust no one

Meta now feels like playing roulette with my budget — one day it’s gold, the next it’s all fake clicks and bots.

yes i have the same problem. too many spam bots on my ads. I used to run CTA campaign, it seems like they use bots to warm up their account, it's pointless

I feel like Meta ads have turned into pure gambling, you put money in, but the results make no sense anymore.

Hi fallon,
meta ads used to be reliable, now it feels random. budgets go up, results go down, and no matter what we try creative tests, pixels, audience warming it’s still a guessing game. anyone else feel like meta’s “ai” is just gambling with our money?

The key shift: focus on creative volume over micro-optimization. Test 3-5 new creatives weekly, use broad audiences (remove detailed targeting), and set CBO at campaign level. I've seen accounts stabilize by simplifying rather than over-optimizing.

Check "Account Quality" regularly - inconsistent performance often stems from policy violations you don't see. Also ensure your Conversions API is properly set up - pixel-only tracking is unreliable now.

I see the effectiveness of meta is getting lower and lower. Maybe I will switch to learning more about tiktok

I recently ran and encountered a situation where the ads were approved but hardly distributed, the budget was just hanging around and not spent.

I ran into this problem again this morning. had a campaign that was almost out of budget with no impressions, then the next day it exploded out of nowhere. No real explanation

yes, recently i see advertising costs skyrocketing, but clicks and conversion rates are decreasing, the meta effects are not worth the cost

It definitely feels like Meta has become unpredictable compared to a few years ago. Campaigns that perform well one day can suddenly drop without any clear reason. A lot of advertisers are noticing the same shifts in consistency, so you’re not alone.

I’ve started questioning if the AI even looks at your audience or just spins the wheel

Totally feel you many advertisers are seeing the same unpredictability. Meta's AI and algorithm changes have made it harder to scale consistently. What used to work with clear ROAS patterns now feels like a gamble, even with perfect setup and optimization. You’re not alone
a lot of us are adapting daily just to stay afloat. Curious to hear others’ experiences too!

Everyone is struggling

Totally agree with you. The inconsistency in performance and costs lately makes it really difficult to plan campaigns with confidence.

yes, like a game of chance. if the meta is fun, you will get cheap results. if the meta is not fun, the amount will be 3 or 4 times higher :))
