The first thing I did with Threads was go to the wrong site, threads.com. Threads is threads.net. ... That strikes me as unusual for a big company, to not have the .com on their major product.

I'm curious, can anyone conceive a way of capitalizing on the large amount of traffic that will be accidentally going to threads.com when they want threads.net? I don't see how, it just seems like there is always opportunity in accidental traffic one way or another.

.net's is back in play, which is good for awareness, and confidence with this tld, I hope it stays .net only

Damn, that's a major blunder

threads.com owner gonna make $$$$ soon lol

On the contrary it will be useless. Meta has way too much power and global copyrighting will mean that threads.com will not be able to ever do anything remotely digitally similar to threads.net aka ‘Meta Threads’.

META doesn't need to buy Threads_com because if the owner of that domain try to maneuverer META and use it to redirect traffic he will get sued and lose the custody of the domain with cuppa charges.

it's a 4D chess play from The Zuck

That’s just a freaking music app. If you are concerned about your privacy, don’t use social media and/or other means of communication. You can’t eat the cake and have it at the same time.

The .com is a productivity app.
They have already places a small label sticker that they aren't associated with instagram.

But yes definitely a goldmine of traffic is going to them.

It is no longer the web 2.0 era dominated by .com domains, so domain names are not as crucial anymore.

Very well thought out I must say. With that amount of type in traffic, it will do well I think.

Best part is the sticker they have put.
It is so small that it won't get most visitors attention.

The app claims to be a better alternative to slack.

Now just imagine the amount of traffic that are professionals looking for a twitter alternative.

All these are landing on a random productivity app Website .

Not all but a part of that traffic is bound to benefit them.

You can’t even accept the cookie policy on threads.net from iOS, at least not on my phone anyway.

I feel like they rushed this out as they thought timing was perfect because of the Twitter rate limiting fiasco?

Still my thoughts remain the same though; meta just brought this out as an almost identical competitor to Twitter but I just don’t think there was a need for this app. What does it do that Twitter isn’t already doing perfectly?
