[META] Mods should start allowing panel recommendation posts/commons

Okay so a lot of this Youtube section is just talking about SEO Blackhat strategies. Yet none of us are allowed to post about panels or their reviews or even any recommendations. I feel that a lot of us who are looking for BlackHat methods to rank videos are looking for panels that offer this. I get that the Marketplace has its own set of panels to look at but the comments on most panels are people getting $1 test copies and nothing else. I even posted my feedback on a few of the panels I use and they often get overlooked.

So mods, can we please legalize panel recommendations on this section? A lot of us are forced to keep which panels we use a secret and here I'm spending hundreds of dollars finding the workable panels.

this is going to ruin the forum, with a lot of fake accounts, paid recommendations...

Sure we can allow the recommendations just as soon as those panels pay the site owner to advertise in the appropriate places here.

We could just set it so that you must be either VIP or have 100+ posts. Really only for established members who have actually tried that. The problem here is in the YT forum, it lacks transparency on which panels actually work and everyone is basically forced to "hide" or "keep a secret" about which good panels they use.

I feel you're misinterpreting between advertising and an actual user/buyer recommending and giving out reviews. At this state, we're basically forced not to give any "positive" reviews but rather we're just using this as a panel slandering forum on YT section. If we allow actual buyers (have a minimum post count or Jr VIP requirement) it would be a bit better for filtering out good vs bad panels. Rather than have me spend hundreds of dollars testing various ones.

I'm sort of talking tongue in cheek as allowing that gets us tons of accounts sprouting up and promoting.

Sellers in the marketplace are vetted and have a vested interest in keeping things clean. Randomers that swing by the site, or hire people to do so, lack the same amount of trust that sellers here have.

I think downright censoring any panel recommendations is not a good long term solution. I totally get that you want to prevent any unfair advertising but I don't want to go out there spending hundreds of dollars testing panels. There seems to lack any review threads. Sure you could go to their official thread and look for reviews but they're more often than not full of people looking for review copies (most often don't post their reviews anyways).

So what I propose is for each Social Media platform, make a Pinned thread for reviews on certain panels whether they work or not. Make it so ONLY people with 100+ posts or Jr VIPs could comment on that.

I'm responding to this as it never received a closure notice at the time this was posted.

Unfortunately, this would be too open to abuse and is not something we'll be allowing on the forum.
