Meta keywords?

Ive been giving this the ocassional thought recently, and i always forget about it and decide to deal with it later.

I have a few sites and on some of them i still use Meta Keywords.

Could this be hurting my SEO in 2018?

I think it doesn't hurt your site SEO. In fact, Google does not take it an account to assign it's ranking factor these days.

The reason I left them on is because back when meta keywords became obsolete, there was word that even though Google doesn't count them anymore, other search engines (bing, yahoo, duckduckgo, etc) may still count them, so I figured fuck it, if they won't hurt for Google but may help for other search engines, I'll just leave them on.

But now it's been about 2+ years since that happened, and I'm wondering if maybe having those meta keywords is hurting my sites for SEO.

I've not used them in years as I'm pretty sure Google ignore them, anyway.

I don’t use them, but I doubt they’d have any negative impact - after all, they’re not visible to the end user and google knows that; so they’re not affecting usability.

No negative impacts of meta keywords on your website's seo. Google doesn't count them as a factor to rank websites.

No, It is not harmful to your site as well as your pages because Meta keyword necessary for finding your site on SERP If you had not defined a proper Title in a page.

Meta keywords are not hurting you at all. If you think they are still effective with other search engines, then go ahead. Sometimes, old school is still cool.

Google hasn't used meta keywords in years. No need to remove them, but I wouldn't bother creating them in the future.

for sure you seo is fine with meta keywords, and like other people say - this meta tag can help you for another search engine like bing ...
