Hi,

Instead of where the meta description should show in the SERP, it shows the first line of the first article of my blog.
I put the meta description in the all in one SEO but its not showing it. My blog has been ranked for a couple of months now and its wierd because it doesnt do this on my ohter blogs.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve it?

Thanks a lot.

If Google found good meta related to searched term Google will show that for their listings.

Make sure that if you are using xhtml you put all tags in lower cases. XHTML doesn't read upper case meta descriptions like <META DESCRIPTION="">

proof with seocentro metatag analyzer if your metas are readable.
had once some sites which didnt get read.
after i copy / paste and saved it in a new file again, it did.

Could be this. If there is content in the body of the page which is more relevant to the search term than the meta description, google may show this.

The reason is very simple for this, Google is not finding your meta description relevant to your page. It is choosing a relevant snippet of your blog post and displaying it as description. This usually happens, if you have flawed description tags.

Google attempts to return the best snippet that is of use to the searcher and sometimes they do get it wrong - they also less and less return what the webmasters wants. Sometines it is the meta description; often its the text surrounding the keyword that was searched for; sometime its the DMOZ description.

Thanks for your help. I think its because it was only a few words - ill write a longer one.
