Meta Description problem.

On a new site, when I'm checking for a particular keyword by doing site:domain.com "keyword" or just "keyword" directly in google, it shows a line from the 4th paragraph of the article.

But it should show the first lines, right?

Is there any way to fix it? I only want one result and that is to show the first lines from the first paragraph.

You can use plugin to update that. Any SEO plugin will do the job.
 
Google's started doing that with titles & meta description on many websites.
You can try any SEO plugin but sometimes even that doesn't work.
I just leave it if the plugin can't fix it.
 
Already using Rankmath guys. I'll remove and reinstall again, maybe something is bugged.

I am also facing the same issue, I have done all these things, but it doesn't work. I think there is an issue with any other plugin.

In my case, it's fine in Bing and Yahoo. Only I am facing an issue with google.
 
Maybe the Google cache hasn't updated.

You can go to Google and type in cache: followed immediately by the URL of your site or page to see what Google has cached for your site. If the appeared date is before you made the changes, you’ll have to wait for Google to crawl your site again. Sometimes you can speed up this process with the Inspect any URL tool in Google Search Console.

I find normally manually writing the Meta data helps unless you are autoblogging etc and that's not a viable option

If you do change your description, be sure to use the Inspect any URL tool in Google Search Console to update Google’s index with the new change.

I have tried all these things but it doesn't work.
 
Google now takes Random Meta. It will not do any problems in your ranking
 
Google is considering your webpage as good to show users but it is re-writing meta description as it is not equivalent or not well written so it is choosing the best matching content from your webpage.
 
Similar to something I noticed recently. SEMrush has an "on page SEO checker" where you can look at things to improve for your keywords on a specific page. One of the suggestions is your meta description with a side comparison of the description google is using. Sometimes they are different. Google determines what info to put in if it doesn't like what you have input already. Not sure why, usually updating the description to fall in line more with googles snippet works.
 
One reason could be the Google cache. But i strongly recommend that you should use YoastSEO to solve like this problems easily.
 
I have also noticed it with some of my websites. Some comments here suggest that using an SEO plugin will fix it, but I am afraid it will probably not.

It would help if You did some backlinks with your first line from the first paragraph as keywords.
For making that backlink- write your article strictly based on "your first line first paragraph" content. I hope this helps.
 
Google is the ultimate judge of what to use as meta description, if there are implications of the meta description being shown, simply remove it with nosnippet robot tag.
