Message Button Disappeared on Instagram

What would make the message button disappear on Instagram?

This happen to anyone else?

I have a white hat account where I no longer see the button to message anyone on desktop. Messaging appears on the app still, but that is such a pain.

Even for people I follow, who also follow me, the message button is simply not there any more.

If this is a Meta punishment for sending too many messages or something, is there a way to appeal?

Try to check if the app has new update to get all features /functions properly.
Sometimes app or browsers do malfunction/exclude feature when need for update.

Thanks. Tried logging out on desktop just now and logging back in, but it did not work to get the message buttons back. The buttons are there in the app, but really hard to work on a phone. Aside from logging out and logging back in, any thoughts on how to get an update in browser?

I guess they have shadowbanned you, the button shows up in my browser. Maybe try to login other account and check instead?

Try with another app on another phone. All good on my end, checked it on 20 phones

Try to log in on your phone, to be sure you didn't disable your message yourself.
 
Is anyone experiencing this? Some accounts do not have on an instagram profile the message button (neither on the profile nor on the three vertical dots). The DM button does not appear. I have switched phones and nothing.

That happened to me. I have a business that I run on Instagram, the first few days everything was fine and then, on the fourth day, no one messaged me, fifth day same thing, sixth also. Later, people started messaging me, but very little. I’m even paying ads. After that i realized that no one can se message button on my instagram account. Also, my reels don’t get many non-follower views, so I’m wondering if i got shadow banned… It really frustrates me because it really effects my business… By the way I can see message button on every other account, but my customers don’t see it on my acc…
