Background story:
10 local domains that were used only for fb advertising (facebook love to separate everything ). Now pixels have history data and owners do not want to kill them to join all on one domain. And i need them joined for SEO purposes.
Proposition:
The suggestion i had is to use URL rewrite with reverse proxy to show them under one domain /lang so they will be under one domain but still reachable on their local domains (canonical tags ofc would be set to avoid duplicate content) for facebook advertising. They do not want to make new ones from the scratch on the main domain (that would be solve the problem) but it would require managing all 2x, and would require large investment so its out of option.
example:
localdomain.de would be visible as maindomain.com/de
localdomain.it as maindomain..com/it
and so on...
The problem:
local domains are on shopify while main domain is on WP. Its not a problem to set wordpress structure to match the shopify so categories and product pages would work. We have already tested that.
Main problem is with the actions (add to cart, checkout etc...)
Anyone here have some ideas how to solve that part or have any suggestions how to do the joining easier way, considering all the above (they don't wanna kill the local ones)
