Hey!

Got accepted to merch by amazon and have a few newbie questions. (Haven't published any designs yet)

Is it smart to sell "viral", "funny" designs in Merch or is it better to make shirts that look good, "artsy". Do the designs need to have keywords that are going to rank? I figure merch is good for shirts that follow trends? Christmas trends, Memes, Relevant companies etc. (Tesla themed shirts, Apple/Samsung, Crypto)

My problem is I want to do the opposite. I can make beautiful designs that look really good but aren't funny or viral etc. I have posted funny ones already to other sites and would like to try make beautiful designs custom artwork, cool pictures etc.

What do Merch people think of this? I will try it for sure but has anyone here had success with something like that or are people doing more keyword based stuff?

I would say It's a must ! so you tier up quickly and than focus on creating unique designs

Yes of course how else could someone find your t-shirt

That's what sells the most on merch and don't ever think to touch trademarks stuff you will get banned immediately , you can check trademarks with trademarkia.com and uspto.gov

Doesn't matter all you have to do is to find a successful t-shirt and make a better one that's what 90% of merch users do copying best selling designs
are people doing more keyword based stuff?
People are just using a tool called merch informer to find the best selling t-shirts in any niche then copying them pixel by pixel your successful t shirt won't last 3 days until you find it copied hundreds of times and sold for a lower price and that's why Amazon Merch become saturated and waste of time and efforts sometimes .
