Hi Folks,
Ok, maybe all I'm about to achieve here, is to give
some of you good laugh, but here goes. :p
I've been earning a living online, for a couple of years,
the majority of this being via ebay. To begin with I had
next to no overheads or expenses, and every penny was
a bonus. I built this to a respectable level, and along the
way picked up a partner, mortgage and a child. :p
I suppose I was beginning to feel pretty good about things,
so I should have sensed the impending doom.. Very long story
short, ebay canned my account, and my earnings dropped to
almost zero overnight. This was in April this year.
Since then, I've been scraping by, selling via other venues,
but it isn't enough. I've had to use all my savings just to
keep afloat, and I'm now getting closer and closer to
the stage where I wont be able to pay the bills.
Decided to try making money via the Ebay partner network,
and whilst researching that, stumbled accross this forum.
First thing I tried was ewhoring, well not actually speaking
and chatting to guys, but posting ads and replying with
an autoresponder, from this I've made about $500 in the last
month (though worried I'll be bumped to percentage based
before I see this money), but from what I can tell some of
you are making this per day.
So to cut to the chase, very eager to learn all aspects of
affiliate marketting, and to make as much money as is humanly
possible from it. I don't doubt my ability, but I'm in a hurry, so
if someone who is knowledgable and experienced, would be willing
to help me out in this regard, I'd be happy to share a percentage
of anything I earn as a direct result, for x amount of time.
If anyone is willing, please reply. ;)
Oh and please don't suggest I get job or borrow money..lol..
obviously I will if I have to, but that's not the sorta advice I'm
looking for. :p

Ermm..thanks...
Ok I did get carried away, feel free to skip to the second last paragraph.

Um...

i Dont think you need a mentor?

just read the money making ideas on here and you can make easy 100 ~ 300 per day.

First lesson in marketing: Don't be annoying as fuck to read.

Think about how you're presenting yourself. You're pitching yourself as someone who a person who has no reason at all to help you is going to have to deal with on a constant basis. Already, just from that fucked up paragraph, you've excluded yourself.

Now, many of us (myself included) have made desperate, cliche threads like this one when we're starting out. It seems like a good idea at the time, but really it's a shitty idea. No one's going to contact you out of the blue from a thread like this when they have no idea who you are or what you're capable of, no one reputable anyway. You've been here all of ten minutes, how would you even know who's on the level?

Your best bet is to blend in with the hoi polloi and slowly make yourself noticeable as time goes by. Find something you're good at, no matter how small, and become well known for at least being able to cross-reference posts about the topic when people ask. Don't blindly copy/paste people's posts into threads nobody reads (hello WorldyPanther, yes I'm talking about you), just cover the bases and answer questions people are too stupid to research on their own. Slowly but surely, you'll trick people into thinking you know something about something, and hell, it might even become true.

Also, lurk in the IRC channels. We tend to get drunk and throw out methods.

What about arrogant ? does that sell ?
I posted a message asking for help, if you dont want to, please move on,
if you dont want to read it, please dont reply.
As for people having no reason to help me, I see people being very helpful on
here with no reward, on top of this, I figured if someone could offer
some advice and just poin out where if I'm going wrong, and gain
a healthy percentage of whatever I earn, then either I do well and it's
win win, or they deem me a lost cause and move on having lost
nothing but the time required to type a few emails.
As for noone contacting me out the blue, I've already had a couple of
PM's within minutes of posting. How will I know who's on the level ?
I'm a good judge of character. :p
That said, thanks for your advice. :)

i cant count how many times a great deal like this gets thrown in my inbox, making it sound like its a fantastic opportunity for me because you will give me a % of earnings. lol does that ever actually work for anyone it sounds preposterous to me.

your best bet is to read the countless methods that are posted here for free and do them yourself, if you cant make money from the methods in this forum this isnt the right thing for you.

Why is the formatting of your paragraphs so strange? Are you indenting them on purpose? Just curious.

Maybe kleidis is looking for a mentor of the same caliber suchas tjlight, dejacrew and blackhatgawd. If thats true might as well just burn your money.

Maybe mentor is the wrong term. I'm not looking to sit at the foot of some guru and feed on scraps of information. I just meant if someone could give me some pointers, and point out if/where I go wrong. I am trying a few of the methods discussed on this forum, but I'm either making nothing, or way less than suggested.
Oh, and I think my paragraph formatting is now more acceptable. ;)

Get used to it, I don't make anywhere near what people claim to have made.

Just register another ebay account.
Here is what I did to get mine after being banned

-changed paypal email address
-registered on ebay with fake address, fake name, new bank account and new IP (you could use friend/family address, name and bank account)
-sell under this ebay account
-if you want to buy something just select your paypal address (real address) as postage

If ebay canned your account, all you had to do was setup a corporation and get another one, its like $100

Topam,
That would have worked until a few months ago, but paypal and ebay are
now linked, and sharing data. Every ebay account, now needs a unique paypal account, and every paypal account, needs a bank account in order to be verified.
Also on new account, you have to take it slow and build them up, they are scrutinised until you've gained some trust, and even then.
Ofcourse I have opened a new account, but I cant go back to selling high value, or remotely questionable items for a good while.

I actually have 3 eBay accounts, A personal one, My wife's and My business... So it can be done.

and I agree with everyone else... Read, Read, Read.... I once asked for a mentor myself, but the best advice I got was go to forums like this one and DP and read... practice.. read more, and do it... it's all about trial and error

The biggest thing I learned was, what works for him might not work for me. To have a mentor basically is to follow his lead... You want your own thing, don't follow anyone else. Again, trial and error and forums will be your best friend. You will find out what works best for you and then just repeat the process...

I am very new to this board so I have A LOT to read from the great members here. If you take 3 opinions and turn it into your own, then you have a winning strategy.

Good Luck
