Hey all, haven't posted on here in a long time. I have a bit of a problem..

I can't actually start anything.

Well not that I can't start anything, it's just that I start it and then get stuck when it comes time to actually get paying clients.

I have all the skills necessary. I can make WP sites, I can do copywriting, I can create content. But it's like something is missing that is giving me the confidence to actually stick with any one thing for any length of time.

In a 24 hour span I'll jump from idea to idea, researching and maybe making a little progress but never actually doing anything meaningful.

I've got autoblogs, 5 figure follower IG accounts, a YT channel with 5k subs, a Medium blog with 500 followers... all these middling average achievements and virtually no money to show for it.

Nothing is cohesive, it's just a collection of random shit not even based around a certain theme. It's like I'm just looking for a method to make money, nothing works after 10 hours of work, and I quit.

I don't even know what I'm saying in this post. I'm just lost and need some direction. I'm miserable, I think about this shit every single day and it's stressing me out.

I know quite a bit about fitness/nutrition and over the years I've created a full course, a bunch of lead magnets, and even have a coaching offer. But I'm scared to promote it. I think, "Why would anyone pay me this much money to hear the same shit they could hear for free or with a simple google search?"

The crazy thing is that in my "day job," I am a soulless killer and have no compunction at all about approaching customers and putting them through an aggressive sales process where I try to squeeze every last drop of money out of them - all for a product I don't even personally use or believe in.

I want to get out of my day job and have something online that's more fulfilling. I don't want to be tied to a job anymore, I want to be free. But I'm stuck inside my own head and unable to stick to any one thing for long enough despite having all of these random skills that I've picked up over the years in an attempt to achieve the location-independent income dream.

Any advice is appreciated.

At your job it's easy because you're not personally involved. You'll feel the pressure of responsibility when doing it on your own.

To pull the trigger you need to:

- write down a plan with each step.
- do the first step.
- if you can't decide what to start with, make a list, draw one item and do it.

If you already have a plan but can't act on it, maybe it's not the right plan. Try to make another, more pragmatical and more motivating.

Start a journey thread here for accountability.

Start with the easiest methods first, like selling IG shoutouts on Fiverr or seoclerks.

If you still can't pull the trigger try to JV with someone who can and go from there.

If you are such a great sales person, focus on selling real estate and use your online skills to promote your service.
Not everyone is fitted for IM. Accept it and move on.

Probably you can help me with sales and I can help you along the process of starting.

Make a list and take one step at a time
Make a bet with someone you trust
If I don't do such and such, they get to keep the money

You sound like you have a case of undiagnosed ADHD :D

The replies you got so far, put them together.

You need a plan, you need discipline and perseverance. No project is going to make you rich after 10 hours of work. Add two or three zeros to that number and you'll be on your way to freedom.

You seem to have issue with getting shit done. Do you get distracted? Do you hate doing it? What's stopping you?
If you hate it, than you shouldn't pursue IM anymore. If you get distracted, learn how to control and balance it.

For some people, rewards after a task works wonders. For example, if I finish writing this article, I will let myself play video games for an hour. You will slowly start to associate the tasks with the reward and the obstacle will be gone. Just like training a dog :D

Just don't cheat. Good luck.

listen to your heart. in silence. in mental silence...

There is only one thing to do, to get over this. Just throw yourself out there to the mercy of buyers, it is scary, but after you get over that mentality, your going to feel like a king, so just do it, either it goes sideways, or people will love your service.

Just Do It...

I am also experiencing the same thing after I lost $100k on crypto futures trading. Now I am broke I need to start again but whenever I do something, it just gives me anxiety.

Thanks for the advices. :)

What is said above: make a plan that is easy to execute, and put everything else aside and try to stick to that plan by informing your friends/family about it to get their encouragement if you think they will be helpful, or a journey thread here.
Good luck!

Meditate, Go outdoors, get to a Gym, stop eating too much sugar and dairy food... Your body is warning you that something is wrong to your Health, I was having the same problem, sitting in front of my computer and setting autoblogs, since this pandemic started i have been consuming hundreds of bottles of Coca-Cola and Dairy since it was cheaper than fruits and fresh stuff in my country, after some time i was dying to design a single logo, i was sitting in front of my computer and sleeping on the keyboard... Then i began to Meditate and Exercise and Eat leaner food, Now i have 2 autoblogs, starting 2 new projects and planning to expand the business...

Here is what I see.

0) You probably have a high IQ, which is why your brain works at warp speed, but the real world works at sub-light.
Practice slowing down. No deep project can be completed in 10 hours.

1) You need discipline. I suggest an INTERNAL martial arts system such as Tai Chi or Bagua.

2) You may have a certain personality type that enjoys starting a business, but does not excel at actually running a business.

You should take the DISC test. You may have to design and startup businesses but then hire VA's to assist running them.

3) You should take some video training course on Project Management. Learn the steps of planning and documenting a project plan
and deciding if it is a good idea. Most projects should be canceled at the mandate stage and never even spend money creating
a project brief.

4) You have the skillset but you just need focus.

Sincerely,

The Eye

You definitely sound ''Burned-out''. I don't know if it would be a great idea to push yourself for working when you seems to be wrecking. Take a little bit of time for yourself before earning money if you have the chance. If you won't be taking your enegery back, all of the work that you are putting will not be productive anyways. First your emotional well being than going up with the business.

Are you giving enough time for your hobbies or doing nothing. I have been practicing ''Wu Wei'' to take a little break from everything even if for an HOUR. You can start journaling for gaining even more self awareness. Than you can find it out why you are finding yourself starting things enthusiastically but ending up with leaving it in the midway.
Definitely a physical activity (whatever you are intersted in! You shouldn't push yourself just because you heard it's good for someone else. Find out what you like doing physically and do that.) would help. Playing volleyball or just running even would do it. It will help you to balance your brain chemacials. I would write even more but don't want to disturb you. I hope it will help!

It seems like you are describing my condition, I'm going through the same exact situation and I have no idea how to handle it. I have read all the replies and some of them are pretty accurate. We might have ADHD, someone else said that we are smart and our brains cannot stop working. They are confirming what I have been thinking. I will try some of the solutions pointed out here and hope I get some results.

You lack Control OP . look back and think why youre feeling that way, ask yourself.
Its about the past and future that struck you down and both are always connected.
Its not that you cant do anything or stuck at something
There are some reasons why youre feeling that way, Ask your self. There is something totally distracting you.
Look at your surroundings and observe. maybe its your boss mistreated you or maybe its your co worker making fun at you? its always good to look at the root cause of why youre behaving that way. Or maybe you suspect your girlfriend dating somebody. Have you observed your family? hows your parents? are each one of your family healthy? or how about your friends? are they treating you good? I dont know if i sight the root cause of why youre feeling that way. only you, can recognize it. I suggest talk to a psychiatrist and tell what you are feeling they will help you
