    Hi BHW,

    I'm starting a journey today and I hope to get some results and keep it going.

    As a personal background, I'm finishing my business bachelor and working as a support consultant. Not the task I wish I was doing, but I'm in a great company and getting a good paycheck every month. Making money on the internet is something I always wanted. Nowadays I've been wanting more time for myself and I think working full time with IM would give me that, so I'll give it a try. As you can see from my registration date, I've been reading a lot and for a while now and I know it won't be easy. I don't expect any result to come without effort.

    Regarding my IM background, I'm starting from scratch. I have probably made less than 10 bucks since I joined BHW so I count this as zero.
    I do have some money to invest, but I'll spend it consciously since I don't want to compromise my monthly earnings with IM. I want to start slow and scale.

    Plan:

    I will not focus on any specific method. I will actually try to do several different methods to learn different things.
    I'm starting with an Amazon affiliate niche site.
    What I have done so far:
    • Bought an amazon keyword from a BHW provider for $7;
    • Bought domain for $10;
    • Bought 1 month hosting for $8;
    I know I could have spent much less with domain and hosting, but I choose to go with a provider I know well, has great reputation and support in my native language. Once I am more experienced on this I may move to cheaper options.

    Now I need to build the website, create the content (I will try to do it myself), learn and do some on page SEO and then link building.
    I know nothing about SEO, so it may take a while.

    After that, I also did an Amazon review in the Hire a Freelancer forum, so I got $5 in my paypal already.

    Since I will work with different methods, my goals will be for the journey, not for any specific method.
    I will track earnings from each method / source, but I will not separate them in detail when I update the goal tracking.

    Goals:

    For now I'll start with rather small goals until the end of the month. It is my intention to update the goal as the journey evolves.
    So I've established 4 levels of achievement for my goal:
    • Partial goal - $8 until the end of the month.
      This partial goal will allow me to pay for another month of hosting without using money from my 9 to 5 job;
    • Goal - $25 until the end of the month.
      Reaching this amount means that I have earned back what I have invested to start my journey;
    • Outstanding goal - $42 until the end of the month.
      With this money I get what I invested back and I have more $17 to start a new website (I can add as many domains I want to the hosting plan, so I'm not adding those $8 again);
    • Extraordinary goal - Getting money to build more websites and pay for a longer hosting cycle (3, 6 or 12 months, for example), so I don't have to worry with hosting expenses for the next months.

    Tracking:

    Expenses:
    • $7 - Amazon Keywords
    • $8 - 1 Month of hosting
    • $10 - Domain
    • TOTAL: $25
    Earnings:
    • $5 - Hire a Freelancer Amazon Review
    • TOTAL: $5

    You have the right mindset, keep investing your earnings into your journey. I also like how you know the importance of not keeping all your eggs in one basket. Keep trying different methods, find out what works for you, add your own twist to old ideas and scale up when you find something that works. This is the key to IM success.

    Bro, selling one Item at 1000 USD would get you 40 to 80 USD depending on the commission you're getting and if it's not electronic category.Good luck!

    Day 01

    I think so. I've read some other options like youtube or social media (twitter spam or fb groups), but I have even less idea how to start on those methods. Also, I want to focus on SEO because I really want to learn it. What better way to learn than trying, right?

    Not yet.
    I spent this weekend at my parents' house. In a totally casual conversation my mother told about this friend of her who have the biggest interior design company in the city they live... and the company happens to have a very shitty website. I have redesigned the website and hosted it in a subdomain in my hosting. I know she paid around $500 for the shitty website. I'll offer R$125 for my redesign.
    Maybe I'm not charging enough, but the work was done in a relaxed weekend with free food and no housework to do :p. Besides that, if I get that sale (which is kind of likely to happen since my mother is a close friend to the company's owner) I will reach my extraordinary goal right away! (new goals will be set if that happens)

    In any case, maybe I will not make that sale. And that is why tomorrow I'm going back to the original plan which is the Amazon website.
    I have only installed wordpress so far. I have around 2 hours to work on this tomorrow and I'll try to find a good theme, install it and configure as much as I can.

    Apart from the 2 hours, I have another 2 hours in commute (1h to work and 1h back). I have saved the following threads to read again in detail:

    Ultimate guide to building Amazon Affiliate Niche Sites that are Insanely Profitable - Nick Flame
    [METHOD] My Personal Amazon income Blueprint - neOtron
    [Method] Easy $300 /month with Amazon - pxoxrxn

    Please let me know if you have any tip of the kind of theme I should use, if you have any thoughts on the 3 threads above and if you have any other suggestion for me to read tomorrow.

    My advice is to work on one project at a time until you find some methods that work. Then spread out and try more things. My biggest mistake has been working on a bunch of things and never finishing anything.

    I also do a bunch of things and also don't do anything well. Focus on one method...

    Day 02

    Ok, so yesterday was not an easy day. I freaked out about this project (sooner than I thought I would).
    I started thinking that I have no idea what I'm doing (which is true) and that I might be just wasting my time.
    Than I bitchslapped myself and yelled "CALM THE FUCK DOWN!" in my mind.

    It worked and I wrote the first post for the website. This morning I went running to relax a bit. I want to write 2 more articles today and a big one tomorrow, comparing the 3 products I've reviewed. I'm not really sure what to do after that. I think I should get the website layout well configured and on-page SEO done before writing any more articles.

    And regarding doing one thing at a time: I accepted your advice. I'm having several new ideas while working on this amazon site. I've created a trello board with all my ideas so I can go for them once I decided to move on from this project. I knew it would not be easy, but I think it will take more time for money to starting coming in than I initially thought. Maybe if I manage to get motivated to work on this during the weekend I may speed up the process.

    Day 03

    Quick update: I have created the two articles I wanted and posted them. I have also created my amazon affiliates account and adjusted the links on the articles.
    I have zero SEO done so far and my website is the result 24 for my main keyword.
    My description is still "Just another wordpress blog".

    I don't know if I should be excited or not, but I am. Today I want to do basic On Page SEO for the website. I will follow these threads:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ch-engine-optimization-practices-newbies.html
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/white-hat-seo/301187-complete-guide-starting-website.html

    How long should I expect it to take to see results on the ranking?

    Update

    Hi all, sorry for delaying the update, but I've spent the last few days working on On-page SEO.
    Since I knew nothing about it, it took me some time to figure everything out.

    I don't know if I can post the link here, but besides the threads I mentioned above, I also followed most of the Wordpress SEO tutorial from Yoast website.
    It was very helpful for me.

    So now I am done with on-page SEO...
    Ok, maybe not done, but I'm happy with what I have for now.

    From tomorrow on, I will focus on more content.
    I have now 3 review articles. I want to do 1 more comparing those 3 products (that are from the same brand) and then move to another brand (in the same niche). On October 24th I'll be traveling for vacation until November 3rd (Munich and Milan). I won't bring my laptop, so I will only work if there is a PC on the hotel and if I am in the mood to do so... (I need this vacation time! haha).
    I will try to create at least 1 article per day until my vacation. This means 6 more articles.

    I'm thinking about trying some link building after I have around 20 or 30 articles, depending on how will my rankings be.

    Please let me know if you have suggestions!

    Looks like a good journey - it seems like you have plenty of motivation and drive which is half of what you need to succeed.

    What are you going to do for the offsite SEO - you said you are a novice so are you planning to outsource or are you going to learn and do it yourself?

    If you want to achieve your goals with amazon then it's impossible. Even if you make the money this month then Amazon has a minimum payout threshold + it takes 2-3 months to pay out.

    Anyways, take it slowly, amazon is a long term game. I would also recommend this thread for on-page SEO.

    Sorry, are you looking for an amazon website example?
    If so, this thread has an example in the end, you should check it:
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ffiliate-niche-sites-insanely-profitable.html

    I think maybe both.
    I will probably outsource part of it, but I also want to try some things by myself.
    The On-Page SEO part was very enlightening to learn and do by myself... in the other hand, I believe link building is a much harder subject.

    Hi mate, thanks for the comment.
    What is the minimum threshold?

    I will not give up this website, but what would you recommend for slow and steady short-term earnings? Clickbank? CPA?
