Where do popular comedy instagram users get their memes? I'm certain plenty of them are found from websites like reddit, imgur, etc., however how do they make them? Is there a certain software they use to get that classic photo on white background with black text?

I just use a twitter account to post the text and the picture, then screenshot the post.

I guess that works too. But do you know what those others users use to make memes? Its the specific photos with a white header with black text on top that are dominating the entire meme industry.

Memes are just 480x480 squares with IMPACT fonts. You can easily create them yourself with any photo editing software.

oh no memes are evolving

If you need content, I suggest using a web scraper and scrape through various sources like Facebook pages, Twitter, Reddit, Imgur in your niche. There are free scrapers available on the internet.
As for modifying them, I'm pretty sure most popular pages create OC, so they actually spend time editing the images. You can use GIMP, MSPaint or whatever for these. I'm not sure if people automate the process of making memes. But automating meme creation isn't a good idea. Meme quality is pretty important.
