Membership site with forum or message board integration

I do coaching and I need a solution to upload video's, which then each student can login to their account and watch the video's. At the same time, I need all students to be able to communicate with each other through a forum or message board.

One last thing. I need this all to be private, in that there is no way to sign up to the system. I will receive payment and then I manually add them to the system and send them their username/password and url to login.

I also don't want a WP plugin.

Any suggestions?

Reading your post i thought optimizepress, but no forum, actually there is a way to add one, but internal messages!!! naaa forget it.
Then i thought buddypress with a couple of plugins, then you said no wp plugins.

Can you let us know if you are planning on dripping the content, recurring payments etc? the more we know, the more we can help you.

Private, it's ok, there s a way.
No signup, ok too.
internal message system, can be done, plenty of solutions out there.
Videos, secure them on amazon s3 or vimeo pro (for your domain only), elsewhere cant be see.

Did you consider a forum, a modified one, or a social script like social engine etc etc.

Or here's the fastest way to do that:
They pay you first, right! you create a facebook private group, that resolves the communication and support part and you send the videos by emails (newsletter) + post on the group = you can be up and running n a couple of hours, but the videos are not that secured.

Go to envato market and search for intranet/extranet theme. Upload this onto a subdomain and wallah.

You can upload videos to aws, and embed them in a website for chat/Discussion you can create a forum or a shoutbox/Chatscript on the site. Then I would secure the site so you control who can access it by directory permissions.

If you use a host with cPanel you can create users who have to use their login to access a specific directory or the site itself. once the directory where the member site is located has user access permissions.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I'm just coming across it now...

Are all students viewing the same videos or do you have different videos for different students? If all students are viewing the same videos, you can have them all on the same membership level and then have a separate forum for their discussion. If all students are viewing different videos, you could create different membership levels and assign each student to the appropriate membership level. Though if you don't want to use a WP plugin, what do you plan on using? It sounds like a membership script/plugin with a separate forum would suite your needs just fine. You could also do this outside of WP if that's what you're trying to stay away from.
