Hi everyone, I just need some input here, as I am "torn between two lovers"...

I want to start a membership website, my first idea would be about simply creating restricted contents about various herbal and natural remedies. This is one of my passion (expertise). But the drawback here is I have to start from scratch -- building sites, marketing it, and also I have no idea for the price.

On the other hand, I have a domain that is something related to books. The site is in underconstruction mode, but the social media accounts are all set, with thousands of followers already. The only thing about this is I have no idea what to put in it as membership/subscription.

What are your thoughts? TIA!

Unique ebooks, only available from you

When it comes to price, my advise is to market it with different prices. When you gather some data, then you can determinate which campaign is making you overall the most money. Let me explain you a little better. If you have 2 sales at $97, 20 x sales at $27, and 25x sales at $19 with the same traffic. The best price in this situation will be $27 because it will make you the most money.

When it comes to a content. People these days prefer video content. I personally don't know any site about natural remedies that have video content. That can be your edge.

@iRakic, the thing is, I already have lots of article collection on my disposal. Should I give it all out after they subscribe or should I slowly give it to them?

I think that it will be good to give the main product first, and then slowly for example once per week to release updates.
Maybe you can price it differently, for example the initial membership $97, and recurring monthly subscription $27/mo.

Take the books website and spend 80% of your site work time growing it and building a profit base. Spend the other 20% of your site work time slowly building the herbal remedies site. Think of that time as a treat for the 4x work you are putting into the books site. Get the books site to a solid point where the workload can be automated or outsourced (or outright sell it), and then flip the two, working 80% on the herbal remedies site and 20% on the books site. Reinvest 50% of your income from the books site into your herbal remedies site to build that up.

But I don't know what to do with the book-related domain as well. I have not written any ebook at all! I started that domain some months ago, thinking I could do some online publishing where I can entice indie authors to expose them from a great audience via social network. Up until now the social profiles are gaining organically, it's a waste if I don't use it.

It's quite a dilemma you have there. For the herbal and natural remedies, consider the demand and competition in the niche. As for the domain related to books, think about what content or services could be valuable to your followers. Take your time, research, and assess your passion and market potential before deciding.
