Didnt know the proper place to put this, but I figured it would get the attention it needed here. I am proposing a Review Forum for SEO software. There is so much stuff available on the net and even in here, that one could waste time that should be used on building your empire, but instead is wasted on trying every newly released program. It would help us all as a community, if we shared our experiences both positive and negative with the tools of the trade that are out there. Please respond by letting me know if ou agree or have some oher viable method.

Nice idea portillo.

But perhaps instead of it just being a review forum for only SEO software it could be for other software as well and perhaps even eBooks.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. I have been looking recently to implement a review system. Right now there is: http://www.reviewpost.com which is more than just a forum as it lets users rate the product with a numerical value. The other option is to use something like this http://www.rental-script.com/review

Any preference between the two?

Review post would be good. And as far as who would do it, I dont think we should lean on any one or two people I say for any particular software/guide etc. You let the people speak and give ratings and over some amount of time you will know whats good and whats bs

The biggest problem with reviews is the threat of bias either by the vendor or someone affiliated with them giving a sales pitch or their competition unfairly trashing the product.

I suppose the only way to do this is to have specifically chosen review mods that are somehow screened for fairness or voted in. Also a voting system for the review (whilst also open to abuse) could be implemented to keep the reviewers honest.

Yeah I think milligan has the right idea.

We can't just have Joe Bloggs come in and post a fantastic review for his own site. Having Review mods is a good idea. I'd be a starter for that

what was the result of this thread? sorry if I haven't found the answer and it is there, but as far as I was looking for it, it is not, isn't it? I think it was a great idea!!
